285/75/16 on stocks??

I'm looking to buy some 285/75/16 terra grapplers and was wondering if anyone was running these on stock rims, with a 3"lift. Was wondering if there are any rubbing issues on the control arms? I have read up on it and it seems as if new control arms aren't a must when running these tires. Just looking for some imput before buying these tires, cause i really can't afford new control arms right now and i really want this size tire.

 

I'm running 285/75s on stock rims with a 3" lift. I replaced my UCAs with Total Chaos and I'm still rubbing them at full lock. However, I'm not rubbing any of the fenders or pinch weld (I think it's cause I'm a little over 3").

I'm about to order some SpiderTrax spacers to fix the rubbing.

thanks for the help. i really cant afford new uca's, and im hoping the wheel spacers will be enough to clear these tires. maybe somebody will post that they have just spacers with this size tire and it is working. im not a big fan of spacers but i do no serious offraoding in this truck, so i should be ok.

 

The spacers should fix the rubbing without the UCAs. I got the UCAs to correct alignment issues, not necessarily for the rubbing.

I agree, spacers will allow those tires to work with stock rims.

 

What size spacer should i get?? 1.5 or 2"...

 

Silverback07 is running 1.25" SpderTrax spacers (the only size they have). That's the ones I'm ordering...

 

You could always get new wheels. In the end new wheels would be the cheaper route and you will not have to replace the UCAs.
