Good to hear! They come in at 68# per tire. 9 more than the 285/75R16 Toyo RTs I had before.

    Ooof...
Was it the combo just wasn’t enough? Was it at least less bad with the AAL?
I’m still thinking that might be a good route for me to go to gain a little capacity to compensate for the shell without shelling out for a new pack, but also curious what you have to say about it.

I didn’t try it without the aal. But it sat super super low. It was very very soft too. The AAL is worth a shot since it’s super cheap. I didn’t like how long the all pro leafs were either. Pushed the shackle pretty far back.

    Gotcha. Good to know!

We’ll see. It needs something, but it’s not an issue, would just be nice to have a little more height and spring rate in the rear.

    That’s really not a bad idea :sawzall::welder:

I’ll need to look into it some more since @Titus94 has his welder up and running now.

Take the bed off after you tack in I think it's the passenger side shock tower. Be prepared for lots of cutting and grinding. Skip knows more about the numbers as far as shackle length and stuff.

It's not for the faint at heart have everything you need and some extra for just in case. Good springs, shocks, relocation, etc. The swap is only as good as the effort and parts you put into it otherwise you can get away with stock stuff and just as much flex

    Thank you :fistbump:

Just helped @hoarder23 with his bed, so I’m familiar-ish with pulling the bed. Definitely would help to get up in there for proper welds. Thanks!
Cutting and grinding is to be expected haha.

I’ve read up on them in the past, and was there when @YumaTRD 63 swapped his pickup. Definitely more involved than a regular pack.
A shock relocation is also on my “want” list, if I went to 63s I would time it with a relocation so I could cycle the pack matched to the shocks.

When you say “everything you need and extra” - Short of jacking up the mounts and hangers, what extra stuff is recommended?

I think we installed Archive ones on Skip's truck. Nothing but pure quality there Eric makes nice stuff.

We also dropped Skip's gas tank. At first I thought it was uneccesary but in the end for the small amount of extra work involved it is well worth it. We did box the rear section of his frame with 1/4" plate as well though. Kinda had to drop the tank for that. Deffinately made me feel safer having it out of the way while I was welding

I hear ya. I saw @hoarder23 ’s dmz frame kit when him and @desertjunkie760 finished it up. They dropped the tank as well, and after seeing that forward driver side plate it was definitely worth dropping the tank.

Just think through everything you might need then have extra stuff on hand tools, steel, bushings, etc. You never know what may end up sidelining the project. So prepare for it to not go smoothly. Extra bolts, grinding discs, flap discs etc. We had to run to Lowe's a couple of times which could of been preventable if we had thought through more.
@ARCHIVE is the only one in my eyes unless you want to do some sort of hacked up bedcage thing.

A kit, LOL Skip made me some rough templates from cardboard from which i had to cut and fit the plates. It was a fun project. Hell that was an incredible weekend. We removed the bed and tank, did the '63 swap and relocate th Skip's truck. We also did a Cab mount relocate to his truck. Then we did my rear suspension.

Is it really a mod if you don’t have to run to the hardware store? Haha.
Thank you for the reminder on the little things. Get the tools and consumables ready in advance. Check!

Dude I have to cut metal with a grinder and cutting wheel. It’s a pain in the ass haha.
But yeah, DMZ makes a really well done dimple died weld in kit. Solid option for those like myself ill equipped to cut that much metal.
