So when I got my 2006 tacoma 2 of the bed cleats were unattached and 2 were attached.

The 2 unattached ones weren't functioning like I thought they would. I assume you unscrew the cap and you can push out the metal bit with the spring, but mine werent pushing out. I took off one of the attached ones to see how they work but hat one jammed too and now I can't get it to work right either, so now I only have one cleat on and I don't want to take it off and ruin it trying to figure out how they work!

    Any ideas?

    Penetrating oil, hammer, flat bar.
Once it moves a little, soak it with the oil and make it move back and forth a few times.

You loosen the plastic knob and pull the cleat part out then rotate it 90 degrees.

I've had to "forceably persuade" stuck bed cleats to move again at my dealer a bit.

So just soak it and force it? Sounds about right

Turn it 90° with a wrench or pliers, and it’ll move again,
to install, loosen the nut, push in rail and turn whole cleat 90°, cleat will swat in rail, t- will slide inside rail.

Somehow you twisted the metal part. This is what it’s supposed to look like. The text that says “maximum pull...” is right side up and this is looking down from the top. The hole that the metal part goes through has a flat side and the metal part is not supposed to turn.

Wow yeah the metal bit just moves moderately easy like the plastic must have been worn down, either way (correct direction or not) i cant push the cap down to extend the metal bit
