I ordered a set of leaf springs from ExtremeTerrain. One leaf spring arrived on the 9th of June but UPS lost the other. A claim for the lost spring has been submitted. I ordered one in the meantime so that my Tacoma wouldn’t have to sit on jack stands for another week. It arrived today on the 15th.

The first spring that came is stamped ER092R and the second spring is stamped ER111R. ER092R seemed a lot heavier and when it arrived on the 9th, I had to repaint it due to all the damage from shipping. Searching on the internet, it seems that the ER111R is the “updated” version and has a few noticeable differences. Dimensions of the spring retainers, quality of the polymer coating, and weight were very noticeable compared to the ER092R.

If I lived in a perfect world, these two springs would have the same model number, same clamps, same etc. but they are different. Functionality-wise, for all I know, they may be the same but I’m not an ARB metallurgist.

My question is would you guys install these two “different” springs? It would be quite a hassle to pack it up and send it back. Most online retailers seem to list these as the “same”

I'd make the retailer send me another leaf to match the new one. I wouldn't want two different parts on my truck. They are responsible to make sure you get what you ordered delivered. You ordered a matched set of leaf springs, they can either give you a refund and pay to ship the mismatched set back to them, or they can send you a new leaf to match the new style and a label to send the old one back.

I would want them to match.

I’d be very concerned the two spring packs did not have the same spring rate profile and thus cause a lot of weirdness.

now I know who I won't be ordering from. Thanks for the public announcement. Check out Headstrong's thread - they have a post on the "new" release and the differences from prior versions. I'd tell the vendor to pound sand and provide me two of the same versions.
