Okay interesting development, just called Solo since they have had my arms for like 3 weeks or something. Guy told me they are in process right now of burning in a whole new slug. So that's interesting.

Get a fresh coat of powder coat too.

I'm curious what caused that, the guy couldn't tell me much and seemed hectic there so asked me to call tomorrow since the guy doing the work wasn't there today.

If they are putting a whole new slug in that's comforting and pretty cool. I like that WAY better than what was said before was going to happen.

 

Well they needed to do something. Definitely wasn't right the way it was. Where are you planning to use those?

 

Well they had originally said they were just going to make an adapter/spacer for it to work. But Im guessing it was way out of spec(not surprised) so they just cut it out and weld in a new one I hope.

Or the guy that told me that wasn't one of the owners and the owners got them and decided to do it right. I have no clue! haha

Maybe find out tomorrow.

Either way, I was going to use them on the little truck. Im having some second thoughts on the LT on Igor for now too. For one I have not heard anything about my new fenders and in MT it is illegal to not have your tires cover on the highways. So depending on this time table of the solo arms they could just end up back on Igor so I can freaking go camping. I haven't been once all year yet..which is...weird.

Then re address the LT. But depends on how long it takes to get the solo arms back.

 

I can'r remember what you have planned for igor's rear. If you don't get your glass any time soon, how will that affect wheat you do with his rear?

 

Well for now probably do the Skyjacker leaf/hybrid thing. I had planned on using the TC rear shock relocation on Igor so that's still an option with some 10'' shocks. Would suck to cut that off though so will think that through before doing anything.

Otherwise the plan was the Archive garage kit and some 2.5'' triples.

I have both kits in the garage so I could do either. Shocks would just be the problem.

 

Getting the shocks shouldn't be a big issue. It is the cost that is the big one.

Both of those kits mount the shocks outside the frame rail right? So a wider than stock axle? Are you going to finally use that T100 one I brought you years ago? Is that wide enough?

 

That axle will be used for sure with the archive kit. I could just run spacers with the TC kit though as it only fits 2.0 shocks not 2.5.

But yeah both outboard the frame

 

Do they make triple bypasses on a 2.0 shock body? I think 2.5 is the smallest.

 

No just duals I think.

 

Okay can't get this broken bolt out. Drilled it. Extractor broke. Heat doesn't help. Any other tips? It's a caliper bolt.

Annoying thing is it had anti seize on it. Not sure why it's fuzed so tight

 

Couple of good heat cycles, glowing and then let it cool naturally

 

My MAPP gas torch won't get it glowing hot sadly.

 

New part time then, or go find a real torch.

55 I think. No idea but all 4 where crazy tight. Like I used my big bastard breaker bar to barely get them. Didn't help they weren't bolted to the truck.

Still made me want a 1/2" impact.
