Ask to speak with the master technician and explain the situation to him. I’d also also call Toyota back and ask to speak with regional office. They have these technicians that travel around when even the dealer technician can’t figure it out. I’ve dealt with all of them before. The worst ones to deal with are service managers and advisors.

First thing I did on my 99 T4R...decouple the xmission fluid plumbing from the engine coolant plumbing. Been there done that with 97 T4R...

As far as I know, the aux ATF cooler has always been plumbed in series with the radiator for the past 15 years.

Toyota stopped using internally-leaking radiators since 2003. Even Nissan stopped using them in 2009.

That canister is the warmer/cooler - the thermostat heats the ATF from engine coolant while warming up, then it functions as a cooler along with the main radiator and air cooler. Below is the ATF cooling flow diagram from TIS.

Wow, very interesting. How does the warmer/cooler work as far as the cooling function. Thanks for the info.

White trucks aren't equipped with the trans. coolers only trucks with a Tow package will have them from the factory

I wonder if we're using the wrong terms here.

AFAIK every transmission with a torque converter needs a way to cool itself. What the OP is technically missing is an auxiliary transmission cooler, correct?

If that's the case it's easy assume it got missed at the factory and nobody caught it. My previous idea about it getting robbed also stands
