Sister in law retired from San Diego PD a few weeks ago. Couldn’t be soon enough. Can’t see any sane kid deciding to go into law enforcement in this climate.

imagine having to decide if you gotta wait for the perp to shoot first and hope he doesn’t kill you, just so you don’t get lynched by the media? Yes bad cops gotta be held accountable — but in this environment good cops are gonna die for fear of being hung out to dry.

 

I hope that every cop takes a two week vacation at the exact same time and the FOP announces it on every news outlet.

Welcome to 'Exploding Whale Memorial Park' on the Oregon coast!

FLORENCE, Ore. – Welcome to the newest park on the Oregon coast – Exploding Whale Memorial Park!

The new park is named after the state's decision to blow up a 45-foot, 8-ton whale that washed ashore near Florence in November of 1970.

Nearly 50 years later, the town asked for name suggestions for its new park along Rhododendron Drive.

They asked the public for name suggestions and held a public vote, and the people have spoken.

Welcome to Exploding Whale Memorial Park!

The city planned to unveil the name at its annual Rhody Days celebration – with this year’s theme of Blast from the Past – but the coronavirus closures “blew those plans out of the water.”

The new park is located on the north side of the Siuslaw River.

KATU’s Paul Linnman was at the scene reporting and recording when the blubber went “boom.” The camera stopped rolling immediately after the blast, but Linnman recalls making his way out of the area as huge chunks of blubber fell everywhere.

A parked car over a quarter of a mile from the blast site was the target of one last chunk. Fortunately, no one was hurt as badly as the car. However, everyone was covered with small particles of dead whale.

We all need to please dial it back. Please. Everyone is getting so severe over shit (including me, in retrospect) because the stress of the past 4 months (which feels like a decade) is really getting to all of us. This Shake Shack situation is no different. Because everyone is cleaning everything more often (thanks, COVID), legitimate accidents happen. So, not only did three police officers get sick, but so did everyone else who drank from that machine.

How often were they cleaning the machines before COVID? Based on the one and only time I got a shake from Shake Shack and it had roach parts in it...they clearly aren't used to cleaning.

NYPD finds no wrongdoing by Shake Shack employees after officers got sick from milkshakes
Three New York City Police Department officers have been released from the hospital after getting sick when they drank milkshakes from Shake Shack Monday night.

The shakes may have been tainted with bleach, according to a statement from the NYC Police Benevolent Association.

The NYPD launched an investigation after the officers fell ill and determined early Tuesday morning that there was no criminality by employees, according to a tweet from NYPD Detective Chief Rodney Harrison.

Investigators believe a cleaning solution used to clean the milkshake machines wasn't fully cleared and may have gotten into the officers' drinks.
