    The other possibility brought up in this thread is that there was a mid-year upgrade to the radiator that includes a built in ATF cooler. I’m really interested to see if that’s the case, didn’t know that ever happened. I think there are 3-4 folks missing the cooler on a 2020 V-6 so the whole factory forgot to install possibility seems less likely statistically.

    better file a complaint with Toyota Corp the life expectancy of your Transmission will be reduced 85%-90% not having a external trans cooler if you live in desert or hot climates, or better just trade the truck in before its too late.

    Seems some are confused as to what the additional trans cooler is. ALL AT Tacoma's have trans fluid running into the radiator, which is heated/cooled by the engine coolant. One's with the additional air trans coolers are them plumbed in series with the engine radiator. So trans fluid goes into the engine radiator to be cooled/heated, then is piped through the additional air cooler, then back to the trans. SO every Tacoma AT has a transmission cooler in the radiator. Most with tow package it seems should also have the additional air cooled trans cooler that should cool the fluid below engine temps before going back to the trans. This additional air cooler is what's missing.

    You sure about the heating aspect?
    I thought heating of the atf occurs by way of the coolant hoses routed through the transmission thermostats oil heater; T.stat is not open when atf is cold.

    Some Toyota literature calls the "oil heater" attached to the thermostat, an "oil cooler".
