I had planned to take a swim and relax by the pool after doing yard work most of the day, but that's not happening because my motorized cover won't open. :angrygirl: I closed it Monday morning because of the storm that rolled through to try to save my water balance. :rain:

I trimmed hedges, sprayed weeds and mowed. All after flying out to the Georgia coast and back this morning. The pool was the only option for me to end this day of productivity!

Nice. I hosed off the pool cover in anticipation of opening it, mowed, started trimming (ran out of line), blew all the clippings out of the street and off the driveways, changed the oil in my mower and trimmer, and went grocery shopping.

I'm going to have to open up the plates over the pit where the cover and motor lives to see if I can adjust anything. I haven't done any maintenance on the system since I bought my house (8 months ago) and have no idea when the last time any was done. Hopefully, it's just a matter of lubing the half dozen spots that the manual says need lubing once or twice a season and maybe adjusting the slip clutch. Supposedly there is a dealer in LR, but I never heard back when I contacted them after I bought my house to see about having the system checked/serviced.

I got my pool cover working again. Greased/lubed all the areas called out in the manual and tightened up the slip clutch. I think it has been sometime since it was serviced because I pumped in a good bit of grease before any squeezed out, and no old grease came out ahead of it. I had to run into town just after starting for more grease because I finished off what was in my grease gun after the first fitting.

Interesting. I don’t know anybody who has a pool cover for a full size pool

I've seen covers for full size pools before. My buddy's parents back in NM have a cover for their pool. This is the first one I've seen that's motorized.

    Yeah.
People down in TX usually don't winterize, they just circulate the pump occasionally if it will be below freezing for a day or 2. That method might work up here, but it would probably get pretty expensive since it would be more than a day or 2. We have a regular cover for ours, but I've seen the motorized ones. We have the same guys that built the pool do the opening and closing, they drain it down below the jets, blow out all the water, then cap things off. By the time they open it, it's usually full again from the rain over the winter.

I was actually hoping for more rain than we got recently so I wouldn't have to add water. We had at least an inch evaporate off -- either that or the neighbor kids are splashing a bunch out when I am not looking.

Wow, that seems like a lot of work to drain and blow water out of the returns. We just run the filter pump year round, and the freeze sensor kicks the pump on if it gets too cold. The pool looses enough water every day due to evaporation that I’m topping it off about two times a week.

Got out for a quick overnighter this past weekend. Camped at Devils Canyon and cruised around the Hurricane Creek area, good times but boarderline too dang hot for my taste.

This time of year you need a campsite next to a river so you can cool off!

First truck, brand new 2020 Super White Tacoma DCSB Premium OR 4x4 AT bought at the tail end of last month to take advantage of the 0% apr. Truck came with 329mi as it was transferred up to Fowler Toyota in Tulsa from Dallas area. Truck comes with leather seats, moonroof and JBL audio system, predator step tubes, power tailgate lock, LED bedlight kit, blacked out Tacoma rear emblems.

Since purchase of the truck I’ve bought Diode Dynamics LED interior bulbs, Max liner all weather floor mats, Sunshade, and a OEM Tacoma bed mat.

Planned to drive out to Carwash falls this past weekend but ended up going to Devils Den instead to get some dust on the truck. Really love the heck out of this truck and look forward to slowly add mods going forward. Nice to see a thread dedicated to AR Taco owners.
