So I just got my new AFE Intake and it looks like there are quite a few imperfections on the intake housing...

Should I return it? Install it and ask AFE to send me a new housing?

Itching to install it so suggestions would be appreciated.

Looks like someone took it out and checked it out while dragging over a workbench. Any cracks, chips, etc? If it's all cosmetic, then you need to ask yourself if you can live with it. Me, I'd shrug it off (as long as it was just these scrapes) and bolt it in place. I love mine, you will love yours.

Everything else looks new like the pipe. Just the housing has these imperfections on it. I think most of the major ones will be covered, there are some that will be visible such as the one with AFE logo and the top part...

Do anyone have experience with AFE support? Do you think they will send me just the housing?

As long as there are no holes in the housing, I wouldn't care about it.

My AFE wasn't an exact fit either. I had to squeeze it on there. Just a poor design I guess. Never gave me a problem though.

They were close enough to put in, but you could see it was pretty upset sitting on there.

Mine didn't line up when I installed it, but I made it fit. Start the screws and it should line up.

i jus installed a AFE intake and the rubber seal was too long (at least i think i was putting it on correct!) so i had to cut off a few inches to make it work. also 2 of 6 of the threads to get the cover on werent tapped correctly and had to retap them. My lid doesnt have an afe logo on it which is weird; but the lid fit fine!

I had the exact same problem... I don't think that they are symmetrical Try turning the cover around to where the AFE sticker is back wards. Thats how mine lined up almost perfectly. Maybe someone put on a set of stickers backwards, maybe it is symmetrical and its a fluke that mine fit only one way...

OK so I managed to get the cover on, of course I put it on upside down...

Sounds pretty good, might call and complain Monday or return. Not impressed with quality.

Thank you all for your help... wasn't looking forward to going back to the factory setup in the same day.

I bought one a couple years ago (AFE) and NOTHING quite fit. Everything was just a little off where I had to bend, drill, cut and whatever to make it work. I emailed their customer service dept. and never got a reply. Piss-poor quality and service.
