Let’s see how it feels with 150lbs or so off the back.

Yea I wouldn’t feel bad. The day I went to look at Tundras my mom went and put a deposit down on the upcoming RAV4 Prime. I looked at the specs and saw 5.8 sec 0-60 and couldn’t believe it. Almost a full second faster than the Tundra and FT86. Also gets 90 mpg.

The idea is so she can garage her GX and get better than 17 mpg.

i bought a truetrac. my front and rear were already 4:10's. trutrac was about 500 labor to install it was 450. i dont think id be happy with 4:56's unless i had 35's. @60mph im turning 2k on the tach with 285's about 10% different. i do a lot of freeway driving and dont want the revs way high. i have no armor as i dont really plan to wheel until its paid for. met an old buddy today that saw me onramp launch a while back. dusted him in his lexus. he said that mother:censored: is fast for a truck.

Depends on which way you go.. I got a complete front diff out of a wrecked 4banger 2nd gen and had the rear ring and pinion out of my 4cyl so I did 4.10s front and rear, and added a truetrac. I'd say it was probably around 800-900 to do both and get a truetrac. That is cheap for regearing front and rear though. If you go thru ECGS and get built diffs, id expect it to be in the 1800-2k range..

OEM pinion seals are a good investment imo. The ones that come with the rebuild kits aren't always perfect

I called a couple of places locally and was quoted 2800 and 2450 to do 4.56 front/rear. Seems high.

Business must be slow. Is that labor only?

To be clear. One place was 2800 for both. Other place 2450 for both. Includes parts. Not 2800 + 2450!

That is to take truck there and drop it off. Then come back, swipe debit card and drive away.

What about lockers while you're in there? Add another grand and some change... My rear e-locker has helped me out a few times.

Yep, I agree with all the above. Zuk, Ken is great. My only word of wisdom is that 4.88’s and 400hp don’t work well together. Only got a few thousand miles and one good off road trip before I tore them to pieces. On a Dana 60 now.
