How many of you traded in/sold your Tacoma only to end up back in one?

Had a nicely modded 2011 AC I traded in 2014 for an all new Silverado during "truck month" (both my riding buddies had bought one and the discount and full size appeal lead me astray), as soon as I drove it off the lot I hated it, 4 months later I was back in my new 2015 DCLB Sport. Never again.

I had a 2017 TRDOR. I said that if Toyota would ever package tech without a sunroof and have power seats, I would be back. They did and I did and the bonus is the LED package I didn't anticipate!

Surprised, we've had 2 Raptors now in the family a 2014 and 2018, both 802A's or whatever it was in 2014, not a single issue for either, we do a yearly Disney trip and Dad always drives the truck and meets us there. Sucks to hear you guys had so many issues.

First gens are a lot better than second gens. The second gen issues are super common (just go peruse a few of the Raptor forums). It became a joke between my wife and I wether or not other Raptor owners would ask you about problems with our Raptor. It was super rare for someone not to ask about issues.

Another complaint of mine (which is petty, and a Ford issue not necessarily a Raptor issue) is when you do have to take them in for service, you are treated the same as the guy that’s taking in his $10k Fiesta. If I pay $80k on a vehicle, I absolutely expected a certain level of service. Ford service is absolutely terrible (I tried 4 different dealers around me and all were terrible which leads me to believe it’s a Ford issue, not a dealer issue) I get better service taking my $40k Tacoma in for service.

Our 2nd gen is loaded up with gizmos, $76k MSRP, actually took alot of convincing and $4k off MSRP (everyone was asking MSRP plus markup at the time) before he traded his mint 1st gen 2014 in. No issues and right at 15k now, guess we got lucky so far, but ya I'm on the Raptor forums as well and see guys having issues. I will totally agree though with Ford vs. Toyota, from service to even the buying process, they just treat customers different, agreed $80k should get you to the front of the line of the dude leasing a $10k fiesta, if you think Ford is bad, let me tell you about my mom's JLU Rubi...

Tundra will be on my list if kids ever come into the equation. Really excited to see the 2022.

Three Tacomas, two 4runners and now have this sweet ride while I save to pay cash for a new 2021 trd sport access cab manual transmission model 7559. This is a 2019 Yaris with a manual trans. 38 mpg and only $20 to fill up every two weeks. Feel like I’m back in high school again in my old Toyota Tercel. Feels good rowing through the gears like a little go-cart while I smoke a doob.

    They make a manual Yaris??

Toyota literally puts manuals in every car/truck that shouldn’t have one, and then put an auto in the Supra.

Why on Earth do I want to drive a manual 270hp truck with a 7mph max in 1st gear, and paddle shift a 380/360 kid of a Japanese icon

Yeah, I think 2019 was the last year of a 6speed manual Yaris sedan. I never understand what the reasoning is behind Toyota’s decisions. Only paid $14,200 for it brand new and it’s a good little commuter car.

No one drives manual anymore sadly. Asked my 15 y/o brother if he wanted to learn stick now that he's in driver's ed (offered to teach him), zero interest.

True, kids have different priorities nowadays. Some don’t even want to learn how to drive period until they absolutely have to. They’d rather circle jerk in their bedrooms while they watch Japanese cartoons instead of picking up girls.

Lol, yep he asked me to order him a Japanese box subscription (monthly boxes of candy and sh*) recently, also has no interest in learning how to wrench or in vehicles I'd want at his age (he wants a volkswagen jetta).

According to him, trucks and jeeps are for the meatheads, anything luxury isnt cool, so yep that's what he wants, I've failed as the eldest brother.
