Me too... 10 years ago lol. Buying well kept older vehicles is the way to go in my opinion. I'd love a new truck but can't justify the cost, especially since I don't drive it on a daily basis.

I financed my wife's car (also used) but we paid off the loan within two years. Bought both motorcycles cash as well. Ballin on budget :D

I just bought a beater in December, so I now only drive the truck on the weekends.

I bought my cbr1000rr brand new with cash paid 10.2k out the door. But that was settlement money.

Toyota actually helped out quite a bit years ago. They paid me $12k for my '97 Taco that was bought back under the frame rust warranty. I then purchased a nice '05 Frontier with that cash, had it for a year and went back to a 1st gen Tacoma...my current '03 which I paid $13k for with only 22k miles on it.

Older vehicles = less electronics which is also a huge plus in my opinion. I can't stand the iPad style dashboards on newer vehicles. Simple gauges have worked well since the early 1900s.

Lol yeah. When I went in to inquire about a mortgage last December, they ran our credit history and I was like
"YO:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:O WHAT IS THAT MY DARLING?!"

I'm not worried about the boat. I haven't found the right one. We're sitting on two mortgages right now. We closed and moved right before Covid. I know the house will sell, then I'll have $$ and the right boat will appear. I married her. She supported us through college and had two babies fully natural so this is the least I can do.

Agreed... and for me the biggest requirement is a manual transmission. That alone limits your choice in trucks. I like that the 1st gen is so compact but sometime I wish I had more space and some rear doors.

I'm sure you've lost track at this point haha

That's a good attitude to have, you guys are a team. And when you're married her debt is your debt lol

Quoted for truth. I poke fun, but even as a single guy who has never been married, that's the way I was raised. You sink or swim together.

Yea man... I feel you on the ... “team” thought process.

My fiancée had a little credit card problem before she met me..... that’s now OUR problem. Happy to help her knock it out, and do it as a unit.

She’s my rock and gave me a beautiful baby girl. ( here she is ) So I’ll happily pay the debt off.

plus... she lets me buy whatever I want ... haha .

In other news, my new bar end mirrors arrived today! Looking forward to actually being able to see vehicles around me.

Anyone here using a Kriega backpack? I'm curious how comfy the quadlock strap system is.

I'm 99% sure there's a Trail18 waiting for me at my parents (heading there this weekend) for my b-day and I'm stoked. GF can't keep secrets very well.

I got out for a scoot today, then hit my favorite parking lot for more leaning and counter balancing exercises.

I have the Kreiga US20 tailbag, and while I can’t comment on how comfy their backpack might be, I love my tailbag and the overall quality is excellent. They make nice stuff.

Knowing what I know now, I wish I never bought my truck new. I love it and all, but I’d also love not having to pay $400 a month in payments. I don’t know enough about the motorcycle world to have second thoughts on my $15k new Harley. But I love the bike, so fuck it. It’s only money, after all. Can’t take it with ya when you die

I have a couple of their bags that I lash on top of my side cases or use as a tail bag. Can’t for the life of me remember the series or size though haha.

Figured it’s Kriega so I can’t go wrong but was just curious

Also all your practice is making me feel guilty for not
