Why not just close this shit show of a thread?
The SSO bumper is arguably the best bumper out there for our trucks. That they have to defend themselves from the .01% of unhappy folks seems kinda unfair.

I was gonna say the same thing. I don't think SSO has to keep coming on here and defend themselves to some of these Whiners. They were well within the contract. The OP even sold his truck LOL. so wtf is the problem. Pay the 20% cancellation fee and sell the bumper for 20% more as in ALREADY AVAILABLE bumper. some people will gladly pay 20% over new to have it NOW instead of month wait or whatever it is.

It took 3 months for C4 to make my bumper and this was without Covid-19 so what exactly are you crying about?

LOL OP sold his truck hahaha

I order my bumper in January and still waiting i was expecting 3 to 5 month wait due to back ordered cause of the black Friday and group buys that they had that i missed. I email SSO this week just being curious if it will be push back for another month which it wouldn't be a problem. LEE reply back explaining everything and there plan and i said no worries cause i understand i work on Fab work building custom parts it isn't easy and quick. Some people doesn't have patience for builds and want it for the IG likes.

Marie, you are ruining it for other small companies that use excuses why they can't offer quality service. Shame on you for actually putting your customer's first and treating your customers as you would expect to be treated.

I know right ;) We are just a family shop and we want people that come to us to feel like part of the family. That isn't to say there aren't some hiccups here and there but we try to handle them as best as we know how :)

I thought this thread was locked by now.

It's not really fair to compare a business that actually manufacturers products with a company that just sells products manufactured by others.

I ordered my bumper back in September as a member of the group by. It was delivered the first Week of Feb well with in the expected lead time I agreed to. I would say I recived almost an annoying amount of updates from SSO. Looking through my emails I’d get a message dang near every week. That’s pretty good customer service in my book. Now eventually I’ll get around to asking them what winches fit and consider buying one to install the bumper... :spending::spending::spending:

It seems that most of the 8-10K winches are similar in dimensions. I have a Warn VR EVO10S in my SOS bumper and it's been good so far.

Any issues with fitment and did you need to remove/cut anything?

It fit perfectly. There was something I had to adjust, but it was easy. There's a line that runs horizontal in front of the radiator, and I believe I just rotated the brackets. Mine is a 4runner, so it could be different for your Tacoma.

It seems that the manufacturers do a good job of planning for clearance for a winch. I wouldn't expect to hit any real snags.

I ordered mine on January 3rd and got it just a few weeks ago. I got prompt replies every time I sent an email inquiring about where they were at during the stay at home order. The status update page was a great resource where you type in your order number too btw.

It was definitely not ideal to wait that long but in the end, it was totally worth it. I get it too because they are hand made in house and not just mass produced with welding robots. I even had an issue with some parts mixups on my lighting and they did a great job at taking care of the problem. I cannot say enough good things about the quality of product and the stellar customer service.

I ordered back in January as well and am still waiting. Not mad about it because I'm aware of whats going on in the world and how their business has been impacted. I want mine as much as anyone else. If I cancelled my order I would expect to be charged 20% since that's exactly what it says in their terms. It's not like they sneakily took the full payment from your account. You willfully paid full price upfront knowing exactly what was happening. They didn't ask for COVID to shutdown their business. If it were up to them I can guarantee they would have much rather stayed working and pumping out orders, but it wasn't.

Ordered mine on 6/5 and as of yesterday, it's on the truck.

I lucked out and saw that they doubled an order and had an extra bumper in my spec that I've been wanting, jumped on it quick and I'm glad I did.
