Thanks. The version of techstream in tonered's signature seems to contain malware. What should I say to the dealer to get him to flash my ECU with 04a71?

They all say that. It is from the key generator. It uses code obfuscation that triggers virus scanners. I'm sure if you download the one in my signature it will say the same.

I see. Actually my computer quarantined the p5flash application for the same reason. I'm sure OVTune would not be distributing malware.

I can tell you I have installed both versions and have not had issues. I would completely understand if you don't want to, but many people have used the files we shared as well.

So I installed techstream and it says there is an Engine "calibration update" for my truck. I just buy a 2 day membership to TIS and then I can flash it in the exact same way the dealer would?

Be careful and read what you are buying. I think you have to get the ~$70 (I think) one to get online features and access to the TSB files.

Understood. The costs associated with this project are getting pretty high. I am looking at over C$1100 if I have to buy a C$94 TIS subscription.

What would I be losing if I just flash the ECU with OV 2.0, in its current state? If 2.0 is going to overwrite all the maps anyhow, I mean.

    EDIT: $1100 not $1300

The tsb is meant address the possibility for some trucks to go into limp mode. Other than that, nothing.

Also, see if there is someone in your area that can do it for you. Check my signature.

I seem to owe @lapoltba the cost of a 2 day TIS subscription. Many thanks for helping me get up to 04A71!

If you ever find yourself in the states or the Northeast in general, you buy the first round. I'll get the next.

Just to confirm again, the 2.0 in VFT is NOT a direct copy paste of 2.0 Final (OVTune version)? So if we want to modify 2.0 final (OVTune version) we’d have to get it close enough with the 2.0 in VFT?

With AT 2.0 Final just dropping today, nothing in vF is gonna be even close until they are sent out?

I may have missed it, but are you tweaking the stock tune provided with vF or did you get access to a tune and are tweaking a tune? I didn’t think tune packs had been released yet.

I am sure I am doing something wrong. I recv'd a email that my tune pak for 2.0 is avail. Followed instruction to download the correct ECU files. When I try to flash one it says the file is corrupt or something else is wrong. Anyone run it to this issue?

Good Morning, I just noticed that I got the email to download the tune files in a zip folder. Is anyone else getting an error message when they click on the link?

Hey, I had this issue. If you look at the file you were emailed the ECU ID may not match with yours. Just paste that url into the address bar and edit the ECU to the one for your truck.

I think OV just made it so you can only access yours specifically.
Alternatively, you can go to his website and access the link to yours.

So I just looked to see if that would fix it but it’s already under my ecu code.
