Doesn't matter. See the other thread about Germes Labs. It doesn't work/fit on 2020 Tacomas. The MFD pins are different. So now I have a front camera system that I cannot use.

I'll sell mine for 20% off (obviously unused) and have to wait for Germes to make an adapter for the 2020 Tacomas.

FRUSTRATING. And yes, I'll get the Garnish but the front facing camera is doing nothing.

 

What about using the ABC harness? They have them available for 2020s.

 

This is the current project I am working on. A total of 4x camera input using the ABC harness and a custom designed PCB.

 

I have no idea what that is or where to get it from....

 

Check out the FreshMex thread. He has the 2020 version in stock, however Germes Labs needs to provide a software update.

Does it work with Germes Lab? I don’t want to install a switch.

 

So, I got the nakita replacement camera that so many of you have been reccomending with the 4 pin connector. I thought I read that everyone says it just plugs in to the existing jack and good to go. Well, I plugged mine in and it fits, but I get no picture, yet the camera that came with the kit works just fine. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

 

No, ABC has a switch. It is an alternative to the type you refer to.

 

Thanks, I guess I have to wait for FreshMex's setup. I do not want to install a switch down below, I'd rather have that mode button option.

 

What year is your truck? I plugged the camera in and nothing happened. I have a 2016, wondering if there is something different about the radio from year to year. I know they made it bigger, but don't know what year exactly. Thanks!

 

Mine is 2018 JBL unit. Maybe they sent you a faulty camera? Try to exchange it. Are you talking about the anytimebkcam or natika? If one works and the other doesnt, then the cam is bad

That is the post of this thread for 2020s... I had the same problem and had the plugs wrong, I think it has to do with perspective of the diagram posted earlier verses looking at the back of the head unit as it is pulled out from the dash.

I got mine working today and will do another post with suggestions/pictures from my install later when i complete it. A good tip to ensure you have the plugs correct is try it with the camera connected before you run the wires through the cab to the engine bay to make sure it works..

Did you plug it into the right one? Did you damage the end blasting through the boot? Other than that, that's all I could think would mess it up.

 

Return the Natika and order a new one. The cam is probably shot!

 

This is actually the 2nd camera. That is what I thought that maybe a bad camera but twice? I guess anything is possible. Wonder if it has to do with my head unit, 7 inch non JBL on 2016 off-road. I am a bit annoyed. Thanks for getting back to me.
