Hey guys, I’m coming around 46,000 miles and it’s about time for a brake pad replacement, I just wanted to get an idea as to what good replacements there are? I checked Toyota’s parts website and they were listed for ~$115. For around that price is there a better brake pad that I can get?

Well you can’t really go wrong with ebc . I’ve used them for everything sports cars, motorcycles and trucks . Race proven brake company .

Brakes at 46,000 miles? That seems a little early for brakes. What's going on with your truck you need brakes that fast?

I hear OEM is among the best price for quality.

Yeah I’m running 285/75/16 with lift and steel armor all the way around and got to 77k . You must tow a lot?

I’m at 103k and still on original brakes with quite a bit left last time I checked

I sold my 2011 with 113K miles and the pads were still in the "green" zone. And I towed a lot.

Changed mine at 80k. Didnt realize they still had life on them until after I took everything apart. Replaced them anyway but could have gone another 20k easily.

I admit, 95% of my miles are highway, but man 50K still seems excessive to me. I guess if you're the go go go type... just make sure your foot isn't resting on the brake pedal!

    Interesting! Wonder what I'm missing.

My wife's Fusion has 110K and the original front brakes, which is surprising considering she waits til the very last 50 ft to brake at the bottom of the off ramp.

I'm really really rough on shit. I went through 3 4L60E's and 3 BAXA transmissions over the course of probably 15 years of driving. If there's a weak link in a drive train, I'll find it lol

Not like excessively rough. I just drive with intention.

I am just going off of what the dealership said to me, sounds to me that they don’t know what they’re talking about. No I don’t typically tow much, I have towed some heavy loads but very infrequently. Thank you guys for your input! I had a feeling it was too soon but I haven’t had the wheels off to check for myself.

Be careful. Dealers will take your money any chance they get.
