Tell Dallas not to buy an RX7

I owned an FD3S for +2 years and thought my discouraging him as an owner would change his mind

I stripped the threads when I installed it originally last year. I just said “fuck it” and ran it anyway.

I decided since I was doing the fuel injectors that I’ll Helicoil it to fix it once and for all. Well, that didn’t go well. I couldn’t drill straight since it’s at a 90 degree angle.

So, next step is take off the supercharger and have it TIG welded and re-tapped. Probably have them throw it in the mill to make it true again.

I paid a premium to buy one that was stock and had new seals and the 'rats nest' of lines all replaced.

It was all done at a specialty rotary shop that I had already seen as recommended on the forum so it helped that the shop was familiar with the car.

That's over $20k in mods I never saw back since I upgraded to a single turbo, aem, exhaust, RPF1, Tanabe suspension, and more not to mention paying to swap in a manual transmission.

They're my favorite sleeper; I'd be happy if it was the last car I owned.

I hate when I look on Craigslist to see someone fucking it up and swapping in a V8. Then there are those that are in clean shape, asking over $40k with stupid 22" wheels

Gotta admit one of those GNX Grand Nationals would be bad to the bone. Such a cool car man. And of course the serious hp and torque output with the turbo
Yeah that'd be an American car I'd own in a heartbeat man. That car is what I like to think of when I think of 'Murican muscle

This one was mostly original sans ball bearing turbo and custom aluminum wheels to look like the originals.. 85k miles he wanted 12k... but then his wedding was canceled and he said fuck it I’m keeping it... still talk to the guy

Oh dude a GNX would be the ultimate cherry on top; I was talking about just a Grand National as there's a difference between the two.

I've watched auctions where a GNX would sell for over $100k.

I'd marry a dude if he owned one just to make sure I got the car in the event of his passing :anonymous:
