New 2020 head unit. Buying?

Get the Pioneer wc6600nex when becomes available, it should fit just fine, the Sony needs trimming.

 

Recently added the 2020 Entune 3.0 head unit to my wifes 2017 corolla. Picked it up on offerup for 200 from California and had autoharnesshouse custom make an adapter so it is plug and play..... ran into a few snags. First the USB was nearly impossible to find.... Tried using a less expensive GPS antenna and it wouldn’t get signal. That last issue is there is no illumination wire on the new unit. I’m guessing it reads it from the CanBus and tells the radio to illuminate. Since her car doesn’t have it the radio is always on day mode.

 

So it is possible. I want to get the 2020 RAV4's radio cause it has AA and nice knobs lol.
But I heard the units with AA have a different layout in the back.

 

It’s definitely possible but I’m not sure how monetarily feasible it is for most people. Though I didn’t pay a lot for everything in the grand scheme, I spent many hours figuring it out. I didn’t really even have a good reason of doing it just the fact that it was a challenge and I’m bored LOL. also I wanted to clarify I believe all of the 2020 have both android auto and Apple CarPlay I know mine has both. I don’t think it matters what car it comes out of because they all have the same software.

2020 Tacoma... front speakers are a bit louder than I liked, so I tried to balance and fade more sound to the rear, but very little sound comes from the rear. Seems to be a common problem. On another thread someone mentioned replacing the headunit. Is that the only solution??? Do you have any suggestions? It's a new truck, so really don't want to go through that cost.

 

Not sure if any of this I have is worth anything but I did just buy a 2020 Tacoma trd sport and was looking for a way to have dual USB ports one for the iPhone and another for the music USB drive I have with over 49k songs and albums so far I haven't found anything

 

How the Joying units been? They look clean.

 

Haven't tried it myself, but Entune 2.0 head units at least worked with USB hubs. You might try something like this guy did:

If it works you could even get one of those Toyota dual USB socket chargers that fits in the switch blanks and rewire it to a small powered hub to get both ports and fast charging:

 

Wasn't worried about charging but no cd player and has one USB port to the head unit sucks balls either use apple car play or a USB drive with all my music. I don't keep music on phone because of my work and they pay part of the bill lol but I am looking into it if anyone has any insight would be good

 

Try the little USB splitter and let us know if it works
