I believe the slimline 2 bumper follows these lines.

A while back I got 285s put on, and started rubbing towards the front, so Viper Cut it was...I took a heat gun to the liners, still have a little more persuading to do, but Im stoked on it! The heat gun was also very helpful when applying the trim just FYI.

Very clean. How does the inside look with the folded up liner? My only real concern is what to do with the inner fender lining.

    That looks super clean!

Are you running wheel spacers with your 285s OR wheels? I jumped to 265/75/r16s recently with 5100s all around and a 1 inch block in the back on my OR OEM wheels. I really liked it the first week, but I'm already thinking I should have gone bigger. I was just apprehensive about running that size of a tire on the OR wheels.

You can use a heat gun to fold the liner up and zip tie to keep from flapping.

Hey what kind of winch mount did you use for this? I really like it.

Thank you! Yes, I am running 1.5in spacers. I think the 285s are much more proportionate to the long beds. I have 5100s and an AAL. Could not be happier!

This is exactly what I did as well. Figured Id still try and have as much coverage in there as possible.

Exactly! If you cut the liner out, there will be so many wires exposed. The fog lights are right there. I imagine this would be a pain to clean after going through mud.

I’ve been tossing around the idea of making this cut for a while now. I think this thread was the persuasion I needed!

Heat gun + zip ties seems to be the best solution for the inner wheel liner. I also made a custom set of engine splash guards for added protection.

Yeah don't cut the liner, just heat gun it out of the way. 10/10 would recommend mod. It helped wheeling a ton and looks great imho.

Looking for a Goldilocks solution here. I absolutely love the viper cut look, but... I appreciate the relatively quiet highway ride (on stock Wranglers.) So, have any of you with highway-friendly tires notice a substantial increase in wind noise?

A viper cut with stock 265/70 wranglers would look goofy IMO lol

You should get a set of SL rated falken wildpeaks, they’re just a quiet as the stock tires and way more capable. Plus you can go up a size to 265/75... then the viper kit would look proper :D

Agreed. I plan to go Wildpeak or Cooper AT3s 265/75-16 but used the stock Wranglers as a base reference. I have some El Cheapo "Mud Claws" 235/80-16 skinnies for off-roading and they hum like an angelic choir, so yes, I know road noise. Just want to reduce it for my highway tires, but also want my highway tires to look... you know, cool.

cooper at3’s are pretty lame looking compared to the falkens (I’ve had both)
The ride is about the same for both of them really can’t go wrong with the wildpeaks!

Good to know. I used to run Falkens on my cars way back in the 1900s, but they seemed to get louder the more they wore in. I'll consider the Wildpeaks a bit more seriously when I go shopping. Thanks!
