There's heavy duty aftermarket gas tank skids available. Low Range Offroad $199. I'm sure theres others on the market.

I should have a set in my toolbox at home, oh your probably referring to your 3rd gen taco, not your 3rd gen 4runner.

Yea, I think I still have the set from my lifted 4runner. I'll check today. If I find'em you can have'em.

Thanks! I saw this one while searching for a OEM one. I decided against it. Although I'm sure it's awesome, it's 33 pounds. Doesn't sound like alot, but trying to keep the rig light so I can put other heavy stuff on it :D. Plus it utilizes the factory mounting points. The two rear bolts go into the fuel tank strap. So if you really bash it hard there, the weight crushes the fuel tank between the skid and the fuel tank cross-member. It's possible I'm underestimating the strength of the tank.

Anyways, I don't do any hardcore rock crawling where I'm bashing the skid with the full weight of the truck. I mostly want it to keep gravel, road debris, brush, and the occasional drag from damaging the tank. The OEM skid is light weight and sufficient for this IMO.... assuming it hasn't rusted off completely. I couldn't find a good aftermarket one that is lightweight, like a 1/8" of 14 gauge steel one perhaps. That just means I'll have to build one :welder:

Who recently asked about spanner wrenches? I just found these 2 in the bottom drawer of my tool cart.

Contact Dustin at ABC Wrecking in Arizona. They usually have a good amount of Toyota trucks and their parts aren't rusty like here in the northeast. I've gotten a few complete low mileage 3.4's from them and they're good guys to deal with.

Good day MD, can anyone recommend a decent shop to get the CMC done at? If anyone is willing to help, I'm willing to pay/barter. Any leads are helpful, thanks

    Good Afternoon!

Does anyone have a chrome bumper off a 05-15 laying around by chance?

Looking for one in good shape for my truck that recently had a mishap. Hoping to get one significantly cheaper than a new $500 OEM one.

    Thanks!

Came off roaring to some rock crawling and now truck clutch ain’t engaging for some reason. Turns on and will run but clutch it’s barely at the tip. New clutch already? Barely first off roading trip with it and only 3k miles

I saw @Tonymontana’s work several pages back and it looks great.
I went ahead and ordered a set of plates from http://bayareametalfab.3dcartstores.com/CMC-Cab-Mount-Chop-Brackets_p_15.html in anticipation of getting mine done. I’ll take pics of the plates when I get them.
