I have one off a 96 4Runner with TPS. It would work on a 95-02 Taco/96-00 4Runner with cruise and an auto trans. I'm 99% sure the only differences are auto vs manual and cruise control. Then the 03-04 Tacos and 01-02 4Runners are throttle by wire instead of cable. But @Texoma is right about www.car-part.com. Pretty useful to find stuff locally, especially yards that don't list their inventory on their own website.

 

I'm also in need of a 35 r17 spare, if you are planning on breaking up the set @KENNY

 

I am 99.9% sure that all 3.4L engines have cable throttle.

 

I kinda got lucky...I ran in to a guy at Whataburger that was driving a vinyl wrap company truck so I stopped him and asked about it. He did it on the side for me for probably half price. It's been a couple years so I can't remember the cost. Sorry I'm not more help!

You're right. It's not a true throttle by wire on 5VZ 03/04 Tacomas/01-02 4Runners, but they are not the standard cable throttle either. It's a very important thing to distinguish when shopping for a used throttle body or you'll end up with a paperweight. If the throttle cable attaches to a plastic piece on the front of the TB you have an ETCS system with extra sensors.

When driving a 95-02 Taco you feel a direct input from the pedal because it's straight up cable throttle. But in an 03-04 Taco there can be a slight delay from the sensors involved. So more than .1% on the road are a hybrid drive by wire/cable system.

 

Have a set of relentless bed bars for sale. A set of 3. Has hi lift mount, tabs for lights and mounts for quick fist or other gear. These are the tall version. This will fit both 2nd and 3rd gen.

I wish these could fit a tacoma with a tonneau cover. I've been in search for a bed rack for a RTT that would accommodate a tonneau.
