    Its official
After how many hours has it been?
    Great workout!

    Its pretty awesome!
Especially the way he has it set up.

    Yeah anyways..
This thing has ruined me on my other thin necked lightweight guitars.
I may have to rethink my entire stable.

LOL, and thanks....for some reason I can not part with a guitar...i cant bring myself to do it....The red one was my first electric guitar my parents bought me in 6th grade...had to promise I would stay in lessons for a year with an acoustic before they bought me an electric due to my failed attempt at violin....for two weeks....haha....Trying to get myself to unload my old Peavey bandit 75...but cant seem to do that either...

Current rig is PRS SE24 and PRS Swamp Ash through a DeVille....Have been on the hunt for a replacement for the Deville for the last year....looking for three channels and lighter...open to suggestions

So I just noticed I’m getting a weird twang from my A string when I’m fretting. Idk if it just started or if it’s been like that since I took it in for a setup. But I’m not sure what’s goin on with it right now. It's only twanging when I fret the 4th fret or higher, it doesnt twang 1-3 or open

If it’s all the frets above the 4th, the truss rod might need to be loosened a touch. If you look down the fretboard is it concave a little or bowed up. Most should be a touch concave or almost flat, or at least that’s how I set mine up anyway

I just played with it some more, and it's only doing it 4th - 9th fret. Open, 1-3, and 10-22 are all fine. It's only the 5th string too, none of the others are doing it.

sounds like the neck might be bowed up just a tad, if all else is fine, you might just raise the action on the A string a touch until it's good.

Check for a proud fret. Meaning it might be taller than the rest. If all the other strings are good, it probably does not need a truss rod adjustment. This adjusts the whole neck and not one string.

Check and see for a tall fret, if you see one and its not sitting out of its slot too much, a little tap from a hammer will help it sit back down.

I am not sure where you are located, but seasons can change the way the exposed wood in your fingerboard is reacting to the frets and how they are seated.

Modified the level of gas in the tank
Please, pull up a comfy seat...grab yourself a beverage and stick around awhile if you wouldn't mind.

This kind of input will be most welcome here.

I will look after the gym. I’m in Huntington Beach, and I just had the guitar taken to a luthier for a full setup not even a month ago. And yes it is just the one string (5th string) and only doing it when I fret 4-9. I’m not sure if it’s been going it since I got it back from the luthier or if it just started recently. But I haven’t had time to check the action since @danbow offered his advice on that.

Let’s pretend I was going to buy a new guitar. I want to get something to get more hard rock/metal sounds out of. Rage Against the Machine, sabbath, QOTSA, etc. what type of guitar would I be looking at getting for something like this?

PRS is very versatile in its tones...i play in classic rock band. with my swamp ash edition, I get a range from les paul to strat...lots of dudes playing metal with prs paired with the right amp, and possibly an assortment of pedals..i almost jumped into a metal band recently and would have brought the prs with a change in amp from my deville.....im very biased tho.....try anything and everything...find what sounds best to you...kinda like the decisions we make for our tacos....:bananadance:
