This. Also, any photos of the ditch lights properly aimed to the side? I’d like to see how much light they put off when aimed out and down to the ground......as ditch lights.

I haven’t watched the video; I’m familiar with DD design philosophy. I was just wondering since it seemed the mounts had something to do with hood glare. Perhaps with a low shield or something. But I get that it’s the combo pack, or mount + SS3 that gets the job done.

 

I had no idea bouncing ditch light brackets were an issue. Never had that issue in the 1+ year i've had my Caliraised... but those lights are beautiful!

 

My XL80’s bounce like a mofo. But I have a couple underlying issues I think is contributing to make it considerably worse than it should be.

@memario1214 anything with these aimed to the side? I already have ditch brackets that I’m happy with but have been considering SS3s for a while now.

 

You probably would want the flood pattern for ditch lighting. Although not sure how they would do at speed, since it’s more of a “scene pattern” it looks like.

 

Interesting, unfortunately it doesn't look like there would be much of a functional improvement for real ditch lighting by going with SS3s over the current BD S1 Spots I have in the ditch position now. I guess I'll wait to see if some people pick these up for ditch lighting purposes and see what their thoughts are.

 

Awesome, now wondering what color and pattern to get. I already have a set of SS3 Pro Fogs in Yellow. I'm tempted to get a set of SAE driving Ditch lights, but not sure if i should get yellow or white. I'm kinda leaning toward Yellow pros with white lenses for a warmer light. Do you sell the Lenses seperate?

I'm trying to find the thread where the fogs were tested in this fashion to see what that color temp would look like anyone running yellow ss3 pros with white lenses installed?

 

@crashnburn80 showed a 9% loss in intensity with the yellow lens compared to the white. I would buy the yellow and get some clear lenses. That way you can swap them. Lenses are cheap to swap compared to the whole light. That’s why I like BD lights as well. Don’t like a pattern - switch the lens and try a new one.
