So, I'm contemplating a 4Runner for my wife when we get to Hawaii...currently leaning toward a 4x4 TRD OR Premium with the KDSS. Any current owners have insight or regrets? TIA.

 

Don't get the kdss if you plan on doing any upgrades. Other than that, full support

 

Apparently AccuTune recommends a kit that allows 2.5" up front an 1" for the rear? I want the KDSS for reduced on-road body roll.

I promise you that if you lift your vehicle you are better off with no KDSS. If not, go for it. There is a reason they limit lift heights with it. Your body rool will be worse with kdss than without, if you lift it.

Edit: It actually effects way more upgrades than just suspension fyi

Can you elaborate on what else it affects? Just trying to gather all the info...I know a small bit about Tacoma suspension, but absolutely zero about the T4R.

Due to the extra parts, a bunch of armor, sliders, etc cant bolt up properly. Thats my understanding at least. Everything I have ever read is that its great but if you wanna build it up, dont get it.

Y’all I just did the first truck mod I’ve done in almost a year maybe more. Finially painted that chrome grill piece

 

Mine was already painted (plastidipped) and has been sitting in my attic since last year...you could have had it for FREE!

 

Ok yall, im considering having my new tranny given a once over before i install it. Anyone know what that would cost? Its unmounted and dry.

Edit: Also, shop recommendations, unless one of you fine gentlemen have said skills
