I was gonna get one from Aero, but pretty much everything out of stock. After I placed the order I looked at Larue and I like them quite a bit. I didn't look at any that you listed. I'm very pleased with the DD.

DD is top of the line. Their RAS and RIS rails are still used today in the military for their ability to hold zero with lasers

Knights Armament, LMT, LWRC and LaRue are all great, so is the monolithic setups.

The price point doesn't really match the my rifle, but I wanted an upgrade. The original was too loose.

...and it gives me a chance to learn some skills before I build one from scratch. I've never this type of work on a gun.

That's great. I've done 90% of my own "gunsmith" work to learn it and save some money. I also try to run my guns as hard as possible to identify weak points to upgrade. Currently, I've gone to a red dot with magnifier, because my LPVO reticle wasn't good for me and I'm considering a rail change, because I'm going to get into night vision and I want a consistent laser zero.

I've dug a lot of foxholes, so I'm used to digging. Nothing like a ranger grave for good sleep.

What did you do in the Coasties?
