Cleaned up the wiring and silicone gasket. Used this spray but only sprayed on cloth to do a clean line. Also took the bed hooks and added them to the truss since I need a tight wrap sometimes.

If you were to put a hard shell RTT on your bed rack setup, would it clear the shark fin?

    Something like this?

Good question! I want to say yes, but literally (just the tip) is sticking out. Lol. Seriously, I have the cross beam flat. Uptop designs it so that you can turn it vertical. Turning it vertical protects the fin. And so the technical answer is yes...it will clear on this retrax version. If you zoom in this pic...u will see "da tip"

Ha! I see the tip. It looks like it should work. I assume you're using either the Alpha eX or the Bravo eX with the Full Cab Height TRUSS?

The RTT I'm looking at has a rail system but it doesn't look like it would mount to that setup.

I’m joining the Bravo team. Just placed an order for cab and topper racks. Decided on the Bravo because I’m cheap and because I like the all black look.

@upTOPoverland got it all figured out with mounting the shadeBrkt to the older Alpha.
Had some random 1/8" angle aluminum of unknown dimensions. Cut that up into 6" segments and drilled a bunch of holes. 3 for attaching to the bars, 2 larger ones for bolting to the bracket itself. Surprisingly the angle aluminum was exactly wide enough to fit the brackets when they were put in front of each other.

@upTOPoverland how many ShadeBRKT brackets do I get per order? I added 1 to my order above assuming it was a set of two, but now I’m wondering if that was $99 for one bracket?

Thanks. I wasn’t sure after I saw your post with three brackets. Do you really need three? I think my awning is the same length ~6ft.

you shouldn’t need 3. I had a rhino rack batwing that was heavy and 8ft. I only had 2 brackets.

I had a custom order of three, that's why. I'm sure the two will be enough, but I'm paranoid that way. Also, since the brackets don't exactly line up correctly, having a third one is better security for me.

Check out this image below. Since it sat too high up, I had to figure out a way to get them attached. Also, since it I only had 1/8 inch laying around, three brackets is definitely more preferable for me. Made me even more glad to order the extra one.

It’s hitting the outer shield because you have the alpha right? On the bravo it should fit perfectly I hope.

ya it looks like it’s hitting the outer portion. I honestly don’t see the point of outer portion of alpha rack. You can hide wires on the bravo just as easily with good wire loom.

he has gen 1 alpha hence the issue. Shade works with both current alpha and bravo series
