@jwctaco what did you use to seal underneath the caps ? there are metal holes in the bed frame and re-installing the bed caps would puncture any tape or seals you installed to cover those holes, is this correct ? or did you have another solution.

installing some tape to close up the holes under the bedcaps is a good idea. I dont think the tape would not get punctured when you re-install the factory bedside caps, though I have kbvoodoo caps on my truck so can't say for sure.

Pics from the drifter thread on what MJ did.

Thanks. Mine currently leaks in all four corners so this might help.

Leave them on. The cap is designed to fit the height difference between the front rail and side rails so if you remove them you’ll need to put something else there instead. That’s ok too but you have to plan for it. No matter what you’ll likely need to some additional sealant or gasket along the cab rail and/or where it meets the bed rail caps since that’s the one place where the cap doesn’t lap down past the rails. After 6 years the rear window gasket on mine is pulling loose at the top corners and needs to be carefully pulled and reglued as there’s now a finger width gap ~6-8” long on both sides there.

    Some half ass updates.
Finally secured the front of the box like this. Had to drill 2 holes for each side. Also had someone help me make the side panels. That's not done yet as I wanted to complete my battery install first.
I got a sweet fridge, and am always worried of killing my starter battery when I'm camping alone. So? I bought a second battery.
Will post more pics when everything is complete. I will put rubber caps on the screws, just in case some freak thing happens and the battery moves toward them.

Started my storage box / platform for my 2020 DCSB.

will have a 3x3 drawer out back. Up against the cab is a storage compartment for my less used boxes. Off to each side along the wheel wells is fishing rod storage thanks to some PVC piping and broom clamps.

Beds 5‘ so I guess it just depends on if the rods break down or not. In the pics I posted, that’s 3 rods that when roger are between 5’-6’.

Those lighting strips, were they installed with the camper initially or did you install them yourself?

My homegrown setup. It worked out really well for a 5 day excursion to the Siskiyou Range last month. I've been looking for the perfect height bins to compartmentalize my camping junk inside the single large drawer. I also built an internal removable rack to nest my long guns and the drawer can also fit my Mt. Bike (pedals off) when I'm traveling to Moab, Bend or Downieville for trail riding

Update. Got all pieces glued up. Two coats of water sealer all way around plus two coats spray on bed liner up top.
Should hold decently. Plus going to through rubber met over the top of everything.
