I was wondering if the underside of the tailgate side of your snugtop shells look like these photos. Fine small flakes of fiberglass are coming off from these two sections and the shell is brand new. My dealer was a huge pain in the *ss, so I don't plan to go back to them for any help. Also if you have any suggestions on what would work to seal it up, let me know.

how did this turn out? I had a very similar situation with ARE not informing me of how their V series sat on top of the rails as well.. to seal out water I used weather stripping under the bed rail caps on the truck before the shell went on.

Perfect for the "Snugtop Issues" thread... read my story. SMH. They're not fun at all. Hopefully, you have better luck than I did. I would strongly suggest thoroughly inspecting the cap when it arrives. I mean really, really thoroughly. Leak tests, check all the paint, make sure it isn't rubbing the corners of your truck bed paint, check all the adhesive around weatherstripping, etc. Good luck!

I just paid $2,913.00 for my SnugTop sport Hi-Liner and to start they put the wrong windows on it (normal slider, not windoors) so after waiting an additional week to have it sent back to Snugtop I had it back to the dealer and the work was beyond poor. They chipped the paint putting the passenger side window in (shipped it back like this) and on the driver side windoors they put long self tapping screws in and then just backed them out replacing them with shorter screws leaving sharp aluminum burs and shavings all over with gaping holes. The flip down window between the cab is hard to open and has to be forced shut due to the frame being to tight to fit the seal properly. To top it off the bolts holding the fuse box and usb chargers are to long making it impossible to even open the plastic door. For close to $3,000.00 you’d think it’d be as nice as the new truck it’s on. Long story short to fix their poor manufacturing they said it will take an additional 4-6 weeks to repair! That would make this 6-8 weeks total of wait time total for their mistakes.

Going on 7 years with the Snugtop HiLiner, no issues at all, still a leak-free and solid shell.

It’s a solid product I just wish their workers would have just made it properly the first time and taken a little more pride with their quality control.

From what I was told by the previous owner, the tonneau was added by the dealer in 2000 and looks amazing today, almost 20 years later!
