SR AC factory stereo and speaker upgrade on sub $300 budget

After months of maxed out volume on my SR's 6" stereo and stock speaker setup, I've decided to upgrade with the goal of adding more volume and clarity at a reasonable price. Here's the plan:

1. Keep factory head unit (and associated backup cam, steering control functionality).
2. Replace all 6 factory speakers (front doors, rear Access doors, dash tweeters).
3. Power these new ~45W RMS speakers with a 4-channel mini amp installed somewhere in the dash.
4. No subwoofer, as I expect the increased power to the new speakers will fit my needs. If I determine I need to rattle other people's mirrors, I'll consider an upgrade later on.

I have limited experience with audio install, having performed 2 previous stereo/speaker upgrades on other vehicles. A bit laborious removing trim panels, but worth the effort. I am not an audiophile-- just a guy looking to enjoy his truck more without blowing my savings.

I ordered the following from Crutchfield:

Qty 2 - 120BKSTRAP universal backstrap as advised by Crutchfield to install the tweeters
Qty 1- 2017 Tacoma AC instructions, because I'm definitely going to need them

Why 6.5 instead of 6x9 for front doors? Also these two threads should answer all your questions. I'd also return the amp wiring kit and order the harnesses in the second thread. I assume this amp works like kicker key or alpine power pack and will not require power run to the battery. It should wire up very similar.

I upgraded mine to all Infiniti Kappas, Kicker 8 inch Hideaway and the Alpine Power Pack. Night and day difference.

Per your rec, I ordered up 18 sq. ft. of

$40 Noico 80 mil 18 sqft car Sound deadening mat, Butyl Automotive Sound Deadener, Audio Noise Insulation and dampening

Noico 80 mil. This will set me back on install timeline due to shipping, but I figure it's worth it.

Any open 15A fuse box locations to power the amp, or should I definitely run power direct from the battery?

 

There should be blank fuses, do a quick search here and I'm positive you'll find something. I'm not exactly up on that.

I can tell you, you WILL need more than 18 sq ft. Also, heads up. Kilmat is the same stuff, and a fair bit cheaper -- it's just got the logos on it.
For comparison, on my '19 I used a full 36 sq ft box and an 18 sq ft box, JUST doing the four doors. You can get deadening material on three sides of each door panel (outside facing you, inside facing you, inside facing away from you) and it is worth the extra time, in my opinion.

Keep in mind I still need to do the space behind the rear seats, and potentially the floorboards, depending on how much road noise I can still hear. To me, at least, the noise coming from behind the rear seats with the seats down sounds like I'm driving around with a window open, even with my music up.

The deadening took most of the day, and the speaker install was just easy.

A word of advice from a friend of mine who used to do this for a living: "TAKE EVERYTHING APART FIRST." Then use cardboard to make templates for your doors, before adding sound deadening. You're also going to need a
