I'm going to be installing a OME lift kit 885 and dakars, no spacers, will I need to lower the diff? If so where would you install the spacers to lower it?

No need to get a diff drop unless you're going over 3". Are you going over 3"?

You should be OK with that, but I'll let others chime in on this too.

I was thinking it was a good idea also. I would probably just make my own spacers, but where do they go? Its a pretty funky front diff on these trucks. I looked at the kit at allpro.com and couldnt figure it out. I'll have to get under the truck again and have a look. Thanks everyone!

if u follow where the diff mounts to the frame, there are 2 long bolts. basically all the diff drop is, is a 1" longer bolt, a 1" aluminum spacer, and a washer...

Near the skid plate, you can see the diff drop (round on left, square skid on Right) and the skid plate drop.

No problem. Glad those pics can be of some use. Got everything from Toytec as the drop kits are cheap. I also have the hanger bearing drop and shim pics if you would like.

Thanks but I think I can get the rest to work. I hope. I would buy the drop kit from toytec, but Im in Canada and shipping/duty/tax/exchange rate make cheap things expensive fast.

I can certainly understand that. Some of the guys on here were using longer bolts and adding washers.

luk8272- were you able to get the rear skid plate to work? I have a setup like that with skid plate spacers in the same spot and the rear skid plate won't work right. Thanks

LSII fiberglass tonneau cover, All Pro bumper, All Pro sliders, Wet Okole seat covers, Sockmonkey Mountain badges, PIAA 510 SMR Driving Lights, Warn M8000 Winch, Bud Built skids
If you get the diff drop kit from ToyTec, it comes with these little square spacers that are meant to help the skid plate.

I don't remember if I actually ended up using them or not (I think I did...), but whatever I did, I just kinda man-handled it until I got the bolts in.

I have a question first. What do you mean by rear skid plate, an actual skid plate somewhere in the rear of your truck, or do you mean the rear of the skid plate? If you mean the rear of the front yes mine works fine had to fiddle with it a bit.

I guess I should have messed with it for a little more than 5 minutes before relying on the forum! That was pretty simple. Thanks luk for reassuring me that it was possible and that I was on the right track!:)
