Men typically have more mass and longer bones as well as more actual center mass so they can leverage more.
That being said if women were pushed more into lifting sports like men I think they could bench more than what they appear to

I’ve seen a chick bench 225. Bad ass.

Did log today. Finally getting comfy with it even though it's probably the most uncomfortable lift for me.

Did some snatches afterwards for shits and giggles. I didn't think I still had the mobility but if anything it's better now. Worked up from 170lb to 240lb, best I ever hit was 295lb years ago. Funny thing is, after training strongman I can almost muscle snatch 295lb now... Pretty neat

You would be as strong as eddie hall if you pushed yourself. Leave them to do their own thing.
Women can typically train at higher percentages for more volume than men.

Yesterday was deadlift day. 225x10,275x9 and 8,295x7 and 6,315x5 and 4, 365x3, 405x2 and 1. Fucking cardio. That sucked. My traps all the way down to my hamstrings are tight as shit this morning.

The research backs you up there. Female athletes can tolerate more volume than Males. Males can handle more absolute intensity more often than women.

At Mash elite, coach would have the women doing 20 Rep max back squat and Damron would work to a heavy single. Talk about unfair lol.

It's not on my IG lol well the first light snatch is but that's it. I don't post a lot of lifts and I don't post numbers.

I will try a 130kg muscle snatch tomorrow and post it...

Well for one, in competition it helps if people don't know my max lifts. That way on a max deadlift or max log event they don't know if the lifts they pick out are heavier than mine. Plus it keeps them guessing.

Two: I think the only reason people post numbers is to brag and get attention/likes. Even if it's not a significant amount it's like no matter what they are just "chasing a number". I don't care about likes and I don't necessarily care about hitting a certain number. I'm more about speed, agility, and athleticism over static strength.

Three: because there are lots of guys who lift more than me so posting numbers all the time really doesn't feel that impressive to me lol

And lastly because there are so many different events in strongman that no one really knows/cares what the weight is. I could post me carrying a giant rock and it does the same thing for most people if I say "Giant rock carry" vs "400lb stone carry for 50ft!" Not many people can reference what it's like to carry a certain weight, as long as it looks big and heavy that's all they care about.

First time posting in this thread, but want to keep track of it for ideas.

Suffered an “unhappy triad” injury back in October of 2019 and for the first time in my life, I got a belly (I’m 38). 185 on a 5’7” frame is an interesting look.

Balance is what I’m learning. Core and glutes are WAY more important than I ever thought they would be.

all that being said, right now, I’m at about two hours of a workout 4 days a week. Just was cleared to run (1 min on, 5 min walk, up to 2 min on 4 min walk and so on up to 30 min of running). The rest of my workout contains functional stuff (ladder drills, quad strength etc).

Goal is to split the days up eventually (heavy day, agility day, etc), but for now, I’m just working on functional and getting back to where I was before my injury (155 and solid).

    good info in this thread!!

Got the first part right. Females can handle more intensity as well. Intensity is most easily measured by the amount of effort put in to the exercise.
Wether this is because of different hormone make up or because it is potentially easier to recover from less weight moved, I couldn’t tell you. An example would be when you think back to when you first started lifting and you never really got fatigued lifting near maximal loads and DOMs were the worst of your trouble, and you were able to do the same thing within a day or two.

Makes sense to me. I was genuinely curious lol, not trying to call you out

I don’t post numbers much anymore. Mainly because I know how unimpressive they are. I know how much weight it is so when I go back to see progress I can tell where I was at vs now or vice versa

do I dare say I am a police recruit?

scenario gone wrong. I went over someone’s leg and my foot decided it didn’t want to come with me. 3 months of no walking and another 7 of rehab. Should be cleared next month. Just happy to be walking! Funny how we take something so simple for granted

    Ouch.

I just had a simple meniscus repair and knee injuries suck. I’ve had foot surgery and a rotator cuff repair. Docs tried to scare me out of shoulder surgery and so many people said it would be the worst 6 months of my life. It wasn’t fun but it wasn’t that bad.

No one warned me about the knee. Its fucking painful.

You are right about the little things. It was an epic day when I could put on my own socks on lol
Standing to pee without crutches another milestone.

I’m up and running again after 5 months so I can’t complain too much. Can’t imagine being non weight bearing that long.

Glad you are at the tail end of all that.
Are you able to get around without much pain or side effects?
