All good... the vodka and drunk dog story happened over a quarter of a century ago. But the knowledge gained from that lesson stays forever.

Inner might be based off a 930, but their site says the outer is Dana 60. Either way the 930 is still beefy.

I still have “stock” tie rods (extended for the long travel). And that gain was over my already modified dirt king inner cv’s which are machined to give more travel anyways. Now I am maxing out the kit at the uniballs and getting as much travel as a 2wd which is awesome.

Yeah, not sure why I was thinking Dana 44 for the outer. I’m in the middle of installing the dirt king kit and 934’s right now. Just waiting on shocks as King is way delayed due to the pandemic. Hopeful to maximize the travel similarly.

I have 4.88's paired with a 6 speed a 35x12.50s and wish i would have gone 4.56. Top speed with 4.88's is a whopping 107mph on the rev limiter in 6th and i feel like im at 3,000rpm all the time while getting about 4 gallons to the mile.

I ordered the 4.56 for mine, I will be doing a lot of towing in the summer time so hopefully I wont be spinning to high with my 285.. id rather have the little extra low end on hills so I guess I am gonna sacrifice my top end.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
4.88s auto on 37s here. Perfect for me, don’t need triple digits. Upgrading to Dana 60 rear. 400hp on 8” 4.88 is a little sketchy.

I think this is the solution. Larger tires. I'm on 35's right now and hated the rubbing, now I'm looking at 37's. Lots of work making space.

I've thought about it. I bought a 1" body lift to help with the rubbing at up travel and now that i'm long travel i need to see how difficult it would be to fit 37's. Not sure if it will help with rubbing or make it substantially worse.

Once my shocks get back from accutune i will know.

FWIW, my son has used CVJ a couple of times for (1st Gen) CV axles and been satisfied with the experience - quality parts at reasonable prices.

I didn't realize they also did steering racks, which is good to know - thanks, @TRON.

    My shit is all stock.
Has anyone found a suitable replacement for these flange gaskets? URD is out of stock on them. What is @Roostfactor using for his pipes?

I'm running the URD y-pipe mating to the stock manifold cats.

No inner fenders and that big hole to start the clearing 37’s with long travel. The hole ended up much larger than that.

I think guys have been using the Remflex brand of gaskets. I got lost with PNs etc...

Update: i bought Remflex #7021 four years ago to use on my urd y-pipe to exh manifold. Ive since changed them out to the urd recommended gasket.

What Roost uses won't work as well as OEM. His choice, are a flat style. Best bet is to use the OEM ones for the time being.

just be prepared to cut and tub the shit out of the front end. To fully stuff 35's you need to do a bunch of that anyway. maybe not with the body lift but once you get there lots of cutting and welding @snowsk8air2 post shows his. There is a good thread on fitting 35's and 37's that covers it.

I have it planned as a long term option. At that point though will prob be switch to LT after I exhaust the MT setup. I just have not used it to its maximum recently so have not found the need. The want is there for sure.

@zippsub9 I hear you on 4.88 but for 35+ on an AT its the way to go. Better axle will always be better which you would prob run a 4.88 or similar. Will like to see how you like the new rear when you have it all dialed in if you have not already.

Are you guys all watching the JD fabrication threads? They have a new system where you cut all your lower mounts off And weld in a whole new reinforced sub frame. It moves your lower control arms up to an inch forward so you don’t need to cut as much crap out of the way. Just welded my kit on this weekend

how was the install of that? also, does it come with decent instructions?

and does it retain the factory mounting points for skid plate?

The installs pretty easy, but the cutting and grinding is a lot of work. The installation instructions are really only provided through the forum, but it’s pretty self-explanatory. It uses the factory skid plate points To mount up to help you align for welding. It comes with a new skid plate steel or aluminum in the front bar is removable so you can use it as a pick up point for a custom bumper or bash plate. There’s a ton of value in it when you compare it to lower control arm reinforcements, skid plate, bumper mounting, not having to cut as much crap out and get really solid alignment numbers

edit It also comes with crazy beefed up mounting hardware and cam brackets so you can actually lock your alignment in to place
