I should add that I have a lift in my garage so I can take it on and off in less than 10 minutes

This was a big reason I went away from RTT. I can’t get in my garage with my truck, and had no way to easily load and unload it. Fiancé can’t go a full night without having to pee, and we can’t get the dogs up in an rtt very easily are the other reasons. Ground tent just works for me.

I’ll let everyone check out the gazelle this weekend if anybody is interested.

Knowing my inner gear head self, I’ll end up with a RTT eventuality. I’m digging the wedge style that are more becoming more prevalent lately. Although the hybrid style like FSR and iKampmer are pretty cool too.
The half dome is a super easy set up. Camping isn’t really my wife’s scene, but she’s acknowledged she wants our kids to follow my path and enjoy/respect the outdoors so a RTT is a good way to get her out with all of us.

Damn. Alu-Cab and GFC are back on my mind now...

Haha that’s funny. Mine is a hand me down from my dad. He’s been on an ultra light kick so offloaded a good bit of his ‘heavy’ gear to me.

The new place has 10ft garage ceiling...your setup popped in mind when we toured the house the first time.

Although I’d have to ditch the topper like you did. Couldn’t drive in/out with the RTT on the topper.

Could be more justification for an Alu-Cab/GFC though...

I follow their instagram to get reminded daily that many people have more money than I do (especially the ones with the Alucab khaya campers :spending:)

Some of the rigs he rolls out of there are crazy. I just stopped by there and got this little awning.

It’s huge, I put it off the back from the tent or off the bed bars, opposite of the way the tent opens

can also do off roof rack but I don’t have one yet.

Should be in Brevard around 10 - 10:30. Quick stop at the bike shop is first order of business.

Do you think property owner will be upset if I try to arrive some time after 1?

Be cool to get set up before any precipitation.

Well, no chance of snow or ice. Probably not going to need sunscreen either.

But, like everyone has mentioned. Summer weather in the foothills is anyone's guess. Could turn out perfect where we are and horrible 10 miles away.

I’m probably going to be leaving my house about 6-630am I hope. Total time with hour time change will be roughly 7-7.5 hours so arrival is between 1-2 I’d guess. Just wondering if they had a rain prediction I needed to try and beat too.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I have owned 6 RTTs over the years. This one is by far the best I have experienced.

The wedge tents are a bitch, a close friend of mine live in one for awhile. Only camper I would buy will have the entire roof pop up.

Now that being said, I love AluCab and like the looks of the GFC. My favorite is the AT Atlas as it pops completely up giving you maximum usable space.
