This isn't a big deal but I sometimes have to wonder how I made it this far in life. My wife's 2015 ACLB Sport always sat higher than my 2012 DCSB Off Road and I just attributed it to mine having a tired suspension. Over the winter I had 3rd Gen Bilsteins installed on my 2012. It now has a nicer stance than it previously had by gaining a bit of lift. Fast forward, the other day I was crawling under her Tacoma to locate a rattle and noticed that her Sport had Bilsteins as well instead of the Hitachis. That would explain why her truck sat noticeably higher than mine. I guess the previous owner changed out the front shocks with 3rd Gen coilovers. Nice, but I still feel kinda stupid..... These senior moments are occurring more frequently.....

Hell, that's nothing. I loaned someone a portable generator once and never remembered who or where. Still bothers me almost 20 years later... and of course they didn't return it.:confused::confused:

Couldn’t find my wallet last Saturday morning just before a 5 hour ride. Took my passport so that I at least had picture ID with me. Tuesday morning found the wallet in the pocket of a pair of shorts in my bag. Forgot that I had laid out clothes the night before leaving and put on a different pair of pants before we left.

Sport and O/R both had Bilstein shocks from the factory.
The difference is the springs. The Sport I believe has a different sway bar IIRC.

No worries. This is the phase in life that you stop using real eggs for Easter egg hunts. The consequences are absolutely putrid.

Wait till you sit in a deer stand all day and when you go to put your rifle in your car you discover it was never loaded. Been there done that.

2nd gen TRD's regardless of sport or off road came with the factory bilstein yellow n blue shocks. The 3rd gen trucks HAVE DIFFERENT SPRINGS to net the 1in lift, and only the 3rd gen TRD off road has the yellow n blue bilsteins. So what you are seeing is correct, and the lift difference stock before you putting 3rd gen shocks n springs on between the two trucks is like your wife said probably due to older springs that have settled, as well as the fact that the TRD off road springs are progressive wound vs the linear wound ones on the sport/base trucks.

Also note, that pre build dates of november 2013 TRD off road trucks regardless if they had the tow package or not had a 2+1 leaf pack in the rear, all 3rd gen trucks have the 3+1 leaf pack in the rear

I've fallen asleep in a stand and woken up with hoof prints all around me. My dad loves to tell that story.
