Could it be jumping down to 4 from 6? Should ease down to 5 with slight pressure on the gas.

Ok. I was able to download flash manager. My next step was to click “P5Flash utility” to get system ID. Well nothing is showing up.

keep in mind I’m not a new customer but like I stated before my laptop was wiped clean and had to start over again.

    suggestions?

That short shift to 2nd is brutal. Pulled out in traffic and had keep inching the pedal along, trying to accelerate until it hit first and launched.

Ooooh I forgot how bad it was to reset LV and AT.
Stopped after 5 miles. Resumed and the 1st 2nd shifting, no power was gone.
Drove about 100 miles, getting better and better.
    75 mph hit hill 6th, 5th then 4th.
It starting getting better but I experienced what others mentioned.
    On to 500 miles.

Edit: I should have waited to post at 500 miles. But my point was it is always kr@p when resetting LV and AT.

From a mechanical and reliability perspective, isn't it better for the truck to downshift and stay in the power band rather than lug the engine at low RPMs and risk detonation and extra load on the rod bearings?

    Edit: Yup...

I have made the purchase yesterday, but don't have the tune yet. I hear/see of people speak of issues but am not worried. I'm confident that @OVTune will ensure that all problems are addressed and resolved. I am excited AF to upload this shit and tell everyone how amazing it is...No more uppercutting babies people, I've entered the Thunderdome. Time to party

Adaptive Cruise control is awesome again. It finds the right gear and I was amazed how it held 6th in Cruise control going uphill on a hill it previously would downshift to 5th using CC. In another instance it did downshift but rightfully so and upshift back to 6th As the hill crested instead of sitting in 5th forever.

I feel like this tune was well made for my gears and it’s been a pleasure to drive so far.

    premium 33” 5.29 thx.

sounds like some of you guys need gears!

Similar finding here. When accelerating up a steep highway hill, it dumps gear and the revs skyrocket. Kinda unexpected. I'm on 0431B reg/stock tire with THX. Also not at 500 mi yet. Not sure if THX related or if something that will adjust with time.
The last tune I was using was the 2.0 beta release specific for 2019s.

So far the 2.0 final tune is nice at the low end on the streets but kinda doggish on the highway if I punch it. But it is a pick up.

Sorry guys and I’m sure this has been brought up.

Once I get my registration key, I need to flash my truck, find out which ecu ID I have and download the proper ID?

What I’m lost at is the P5 flash tool and the unzipping of the file.

    Im talking about the 2.0

Im currently running 1.05 performance tune 91 octane.

Install the reg key and connect up and “identify” will tell you your ecu. Then download that ecu and store on your computer. Then unzip (right mouse click) the zip file and extract them to a known location... some use a unique folder, some create a folder in the ovtune area. Files can be found on the ovtune site; they aren’t yet in flash manager.

P5 flash tool can be launched from in flash manager.

Hope it works and I got it right. There are others with more familiarity, but that's what I recall from a few days ago. It had been 9-12 months since my previous tune.

    @OVTune,
Thanks for listening and fixing misfires and injection mode.
I'm not sure if you got lucky or you studied users input. But this is the first time time I felt heard...
Maybe I mistake, but the data backs my prospective......

It's not lugging at 2100rpm in 6th. The same drive with gear lock it doesn't lug or struggle. I think it would do more harm to drop from 6th to 4th gear doing 65 to 70 mph screaming at 3800 to 4000 rpm it can catch you off guard if your not paying attention. I never said it was lugging at any point.
