When the tow package was a $650 option they listed the ATF cooler. :stirthepot:

That's from my 2016... I couldn't find the sticker from my 2019 when the tow package was standard.

Good lord no. I was a Jeep enthusiast from age 20 and owned 4 of them including a Grand Wagoneer.
The Glddiator looks like its put together with spare parts from the Wrangler assembly line floor, by angry kindergarteners with hammers. Would not buy it. Terrible build.

While having the trans cooler, it was not listed on the sticker after the tow package became a standard option.

Is it a fact that the factory cooler actually extends transmission life ?

I can find in their brochure for 2020 where it specifies an automatic transmission cooler as standard equipment on a TRD Offroad. The gotcha from the service manager and the General Manager is there are 3 types of coolers. A cooler in the radiator, a heater/cooler down by the Transmission thermostat and an external atf air cooler. Their argument is it does have an atf cooler and that there is no where that you can find it stated that it has an external transmission air cooler.

I've got to ask.... does it ever run hot? Why do you think it needs one? If it burns up the trans, it's covered under warranty.

:frusty: I guess that's how you must feel. I would have them prove to you that it has it installed, whether it's "...a cooler in the radiator, a heater/cooler down by the Transmission thermostat and an external atf air cooler...". That said, have heard anything from the person at corporate that you reached out too? I thought I read on one of the post that you had contacted corporate.

I am sorry, but the brochure is not a term or condition of the sale. Moreso, it says in the brochure that specs can change at any time.

I get that you are wrapped up in this pretty tightly. Back off a few steps and determine if this is the ground that you really want to fight for or walk away from.

You've probably already tossed out the cost of the mod just in stress. This coming from a person who values my free time at $2/hr. :D

I did call Toyota and got a case number. Very little help, they just called a local dealership and advised the service mgr. of the situation. Told me to make an appointment with him.

I don’t think it’s necessarily for cost savings because they could have just passed it on to the consumer or left it an option. It could have been to just shed some weight and fell victim to gas mileage standards. Sounds ridiculous but a few pounds here and there adds up. On the 2020 Pro they bragged how each wheel was 4 pounds lighter.
