    massively annoyed right now....
ordered a down comforter for the camper from eddie bauer back on 5/15
checked the website a while later and the order status was "shipped on 5/22" but no email updates or tracking info were sent to me
contacted customer service via email, waited 4 days for a generic response that didn't answer my question
replied to robo email and got an answer the next day that my order was still processing and would ship soon. that was 2 weeks after i placed the order
replied again today, a month after the initial order that nothing has been updated. got another reply that it was still processing
then i get an email that my order was canceled as the item was sold out and no longer available
just went and checked the website and they are showing that the item is still in stock. oh, and its $40 more expensive now.
    :annoyed:
cant get a straight answer from anyone. going to try calling customer service first thing tomorrow and see what can be done.
oh, and i have a $15 customer reward that i want to apply to the order. least they could do for hte troubles...

Liked the movie but loved the book. Only problem is once the movie came out every Tom, Dick, and Harry started fly fishing. Liked it better before that when I pretty much had the streams to myself. I give 2 muskrat and a big boar coon hide for my first fly rod. It was a long time ago LOL, a yellow Shakespeare rod stiff as a broom and pretty sure it had a rotted cat gut tippet on it. With a straight leader.

Good luck tomorrow on the water!

I always called it wading wet :anonymous: Still have a pair of Gary Borger original wading boots made by Weinbrenner in Wisconsin that I use for wading. Wet or dry.

Some of the smaller limestone streams here are at carrying capacity and the DNR is begging people to pull out trout in slot limit sizes to allow them to get bigger. So many people have now done nothing but Catch and Release that it is hard to get them to do it. I do my part, the size is good eating. On most of those streams I wear any boot, and always a boot, but no need to get in the water.

    Good Luck!

Eddie Bauer was a bird hunter and they used to carry a lot of high quality stuff. Then eventually they forgot their roots after changing hands several times and dropped all the hunting gear and moved to Urban clothing and the mall crowd. They struggled again so a few years ago tried to market to the bird hunting group again. I and everyone else I know refuse. Too little too late.

L.L. Bean makes great stuff including comforters. And didn't forget their roots. If you have the coin so does Orvis. And of course Pendleton wool blankets are a classic. In the National Park series of blankets the Glacier National Park blanket is currently available but still full price. 4th of July sale should be on soon. And they do have outlets.

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs.
    I am haunted by waters.

awesome book about Montana, by a Montanan
try living within casting distance of the locations where the movie was filmed.... o_O
people still come here to fish where Brad Pitt fished.
but hey, if you guys ever come here and want the grand tour I can take you to the spot where the scene was filmed with Brad in the water - was one of the more popular posters for the movie. all green and misty, him in silhouette. or where they filmed the scene when Neal and the hooker passed out drunk and got sunburned.
    or the church.
    or the city scenes
or i can take you to the actual Blackfoot where the MacLean family really fished

I like their stuff. And I used to work there. Good stuff - fits well and holds up.
I was trying to be patient since they are based in Seattle and they've been hit hard with the COVID shit. Now I'm just annoyed and want answers.

Now that offer might be enough for me to go back there...

Lot of favorites in that movie but the one that always puts a smile on my face

He's going to show up with a coffee can full of worms

As you should be. In this day and age Customer Service is important, very important. Actually always has been and is the success to Bean and Orvis. Give them hell until you get answers!

I feel your pain. I ordered an android head unit from cartrimhome (China) on mar 28. They shipped it right away but it got stuck at the airport. It bounced around until may 22, last update airport departure. the difference is I sent them an email saying it's been almost 3 months two days ago. Even with covid delays that's too long. They replied the next day that they will reship it DHL at their cost.

    bait fishermen....

Come on out. Water's still a little high and murky so you got time.

I've noticed a serious nose dive in customer service lately. Local stores just don't seem to care they're so desperate to hire enough people to fill their shifts that they'll take anyone.

My experience is that store and others are using the Covid-19 situation as an excuse to cut staff and then downgrade their customer service, saying they are complying with social distancing regs. I tried contacting the local newspaper on a subscription issue. Called the number: "Thank you for calling. Due to Covid-19, there is no one in the office to assist, please send an e-mail and we will get back to you and 8-10 business days". To their credit, they did - in 8-10 business days. Sigh

On the plus side, lumber is back in stock locally so I get to rebuild 36ft of fence. So I have THAT going for me.:)

Lots of jobs out there. People are getting burned out from covering shifts, some working other departments to cover them. At my son's store they closed the tire shop and put them wherever and they're tired of not being in their own department. People are flustered with having to adapt to the masks and distancing and having to figure out how to do business. And it is frustrating. I do most of my stuff over the phone and pick up materials in parking lots at the vendors. Doing business got slower, takes more planning. Takes a little more patience on everyone's part.
