I know. So I'd have to go with the dealership finance and move to get a better rate. They also will try to complete with other offers but it requires special approval. I think they should give out the 1.9 to all customers with excellent credit but they don't with out going thru hoops

I purchased a 2020 TRDSport DCSB (with premium and tech) on June 1st. I got the 0.0APR (which is what sucked me in to looking in first place) and I paid 41K OTD (destination really added, and now OR has tax on autos). Was hoping to do a little better but not sure how that compares to what other folks are paying. Traded in my 2016 TRDOffRoad (had a 2000 and 2005 as well previously.) On Cars.com and Edmunds it seemed like I should have been OTD around 38K, but I'm happy with the 0.0 and stoked on the new ride.

I was just shopping three weeks ago and there was definitely a shortage. My dealer said for one that they have been super busy, but that inventory was low all over, at least on PNW. It's no big deal for them to do a dealer trade but the closest place I could find the rig I was after was 3 hours away in Seattle. The last two times I have purchased new Tacos (2005, 2016) I have been able to find it at my dealer or somewhere else here in town.

My Grandpa bought that same truck about a month ago for $32,500; a new 2020 SR5 4x4 v6. He bought his when he met me at the dealership where I was buying my certified 2019 for $28k...

Just got this Cement 2020 TRD OR 4x4, no tech or advanced tech... Only add-ons are tints (AZ requires them out the door), predator tube steps (already off and selling), and some small misc stuff... 1750 off with toyota credit, before ttl it was 39ish.

Look at your loan terms and read what it says. I financed through Toyota Credit (for the $1,000 rebate) and financed with my credit union after making a single payment. Rate went from 5.99 to 2.9. Some loans might have a pre-payment penalty but that would have to one heck of a shady deal.

Not bad though especially since like you said you got exactly what you want. If you got 0% then you could’ve gotten 1750 off which would’ve been right around 10% off MSRP so the more you financed over the $22,500 break even point the better off you did. Nice truck!

Thank you. The 0% financing made adding the extended warranty possible.

The salesman kept saying that since I was already getting the 0% they could only discount it $2,600 from MSRP.

Well I was looking on car gurus today. I widened the search to a greater distance. Found a dealership again in Virginia around DC that had 2 SR5 DCSB 4x4 in cement listed. The only thing was that there was no actual photos of the truck. They had the stock print art up as the only photo. I was suspicious that the vehicle would not actually be in stock.
I messaged them and asked if the truck was available in Cement per the ad and can I see a few actual photos of it to be sure it's what I was looking for before I come from Pennsylvania.
The first real response they said they have the quick sand SR5 I asked about for me to come look at.
I emailed back that I was asking about cement and the VIN number in the ad. Turns out they actually don't have the vehicle or maybe any trucks. The guy claims they were trying to get inventory from Connecticut. Seems not on the up and up to me.
    What say you?

If the last six of the VIN has a letter instead of being six numbers then it is not built yet. I noticed places doing that as well.

Yes there is a letter in the last six of the VIN I didn't know that was something they were doing. It's been listed on the CarGurus for 40 days so far per the site.
The person who emailed me claims to be getting more trucks tomorrow. I'm still thinking I might be better off waiting till there are actually trucks on the lots than try to work with them almost 100 miles away on something that isn't built.

i've been trading emails with a few dealers, near and far. i was hopeful that because i'm looking for a long bed, i might be able to find some trucks that had been on the lot long enough for dealers to be motivated to move them before new stock comes in. long shot, i know. didn't really work out that way. i had a few places work up the numbers but they were only about $2k off msrp. last place i was talking to sent me numbers for 2.9% financing. i asked them to do it again for 1.9%, as every dealer is advertising that rate. they sent me the numbers but just raised the price. 1.9% was actually more expensive than 2.9%.

i guess i'm waiting for new stock.

You certainly aren't the only one in waiting.
I could have snapped up one in April or may but I was a bit short on my savings for the down payment I was planning to have so my payment would be about what I was good with. My tenant was behind on rent because of Covid-19 at the time too. It just wasn't feeling right then. Now I'm ready and can't find a truck. Wait and save more money I guess.

In the same boat. When the 0% financing incentive came in May and I saw how inventory was moving on Car Guru's........I decided then I was going to wait until at least September after the lots get restocked and the MY2021's start showing up.

i did actually go see my local dealer while the 0% was in effect. that was the first time i saw prices raised to offset any savings on financing.

Starting to see more new inventory at dealers. Problem is the prices are still sky high. Am finding some pretty good deals on low mileage 2019's I may consider.

I purchased my SR5 in Northern Cali the last week of May to take advantage of the 0% financing. It was definitely tougher than expected to find a dealership willing to take more than 8% of the MSRP. The Tacomas were flying off dealer lots and without production, the supply wasn't meeting the demand.
