I’m in Laramie, I’m going to the university. Hoping to get some friends together to do a two or three day camping trip up near Jackson for my birthday but we will see.

That Mazda did break... a little
And from the looks of it, will get tossed in the trash just like all the current disposable cars on the road.

What makes up for the mandated MPGs, people and insurance companies pay for it with the plastic/tin foil cars.
    I haven't found a win/win on that one yet.

THANK YOU for making this thread! I was looking at various brands (like fab4) but the info I've found here has convinced me to get an ARB bumper, 1500k but it can take a deer out with no damage at 60mph...and some have even taken car and truck hits with no significant damage! I'll be dropping 2800 (3k with taxes), but with free shipping and for a bumper winch combo (warn xeon 12k), I'm pretty excited :D Course I opted to finance and paying 73 a month

Maybe the win is that cars are insanely safer nowadays since they crumple and absorb energy while protecting occupants. Cars are replaceable. Human lives are not.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
This just makes me wonder if it's worth it to buy something that's not an ARB. From the pic, airbags deployed, and who knows what behind the crumpled metal, this might be totaled based on some results in other threads.

And Fab Fours recently made a video on the Tacomabeast YouTube channel showing off their facility and talking about how high quality their products are and all the testing that they do lol :rofl:if they were high quality it wouldnt bend inward like that after an impact. I did find it strange when they showed their manufacturing process that their bumpers arent originally one solid piece but instead several smaller pieces that are welded together.

I had to look up the bumper. It appears to be the FabFours Vengeance which only consists of 1/8 inch steel and a total weight of 65ish lbs, so it makes sense why it appears to have folded like a tin can. Aesthetics vs. heavy duty I guess.

Their stuff is pretty expensive too, that bumper is $1,560 + shipping on their website for a bumper that will buckle inward after an accident. Might as well leave the original factory bumper on if its not going to add any protection for the vehicle by upgrading to a steel bumper, thats why I love these threads that show how good the aftermarket bumpers protect the vehicle to see if its really worth the money to upgrade.
