I saw that, as much as it pisses me off I’m contemplating hurrying up and filling out a few sbr stamps while the wait time is only a month.

ATF rulings change like the weather. The legality interpretation for pistol braces have changed 4 times in the last 8+ years. All it takes is one NUT JOB to use an "AR Pistol" for a heinous act of violence and everyone will lose the of such a device because an executive order will be signed to remove them from the market. I have several SBRs, so I'm already on the ATF "interest" list, and a few more makes little difference. I've always felt that the pistol brace rules, much like most of the ATF rules, are pointless and a ridiculous curtailment of our 2nd amendment rights. The only function they serve is to provide additional ammunition for charges against someone who is already in custody for performing said act of heinous violence. The rules do not prevent a resourceful individual from manufacturing or obtaining the equipment in question. They are applied post incident.

My understanding was it wasn't all pistol braces but a certain model. Still crap though.

What happened to the Hearing Protection Act? The only bad guys using suppressors are in the movies. Makes no sense.

Again the original act was passed in 1934. It is outdated and archaic in terms of modern firearms and serves little purpose in the reality of modern US society. The Hearing Protection Act and the countless other bills that have cycled though our political system are nothing more than tokens used to influence voters for political candidates trying to win/retain a seat. Unless it serves a congressman or senator to secure a seat, none of them will stick their neck out and risk being a pariah and lose their seat. The entirety of the National Firearms Act needs repeal and allow the voters of this nation to put into place what social standards dictate. The ATF is an outdated organization that has little function in maintaining order in this country. It functionality should be absorbed into the FBI and the governing act that allows it's existence should be repealed and stricken from the record. The bottom line is this. Lawful people handle and treat firearms in a socially responsible manor. Unlawful people (read CRIMINALS) could give a rats ass about the law and will do what ever they wish to further their desires.

I don't get why people don't understand this. Criminals don't follow laws, the only people who you are effecting are people who are law abiding citizens.

Before this goes to poly ticks and the band hammer swings, lets talk about how grandpa shot the eye out of a varmint at 100 yds. ;)
