Honestly I have no clue. It’s in a 94 Eddie Bauer Bronco. Here’s a picture of the engine bay. I’ve never worked on anything Ford so I’m pretty clueless on them and my girlfriend is looking into buying this bronco.

Nice! According to google it’s a Windsor small block.

Very common, easy to work on and parts are readily available.

    And typically reliable.

Super reliable engine w/ caveats. Exhaust manifolds crack, even the updates ones that replace the updated updates. Easy replacement is SVT smog legal headers. They also open it up a bit. Most mustang cobra parts are interchangeable. AOD transmission can be hit or miss. But if the truck is still on the road, it’s probably Atleast had it’s valve body upgraded by now. Look for the little push button at the end of the shift lever. Hopefully it lights up amber, not green... Interior is inferior to a Toyota for longevities sake. But the seats are cushy and great for long drives. If you are into trimming sheet metal, 35’s fit with stock suspension. True story. Keeping it aligned has probably paid Atleast one persons lifetime salary at Les Schwab.

Oh and check for corrosion on that brake booster.

    I love that truck. Goodluck.

It’s got a tick around the exhaust. Thinking it’s the manifold. Ladyfriend gave the guy a deposit and we’re planned on being back Monday to pick it up.

It’s a one owner vehicle with a lot of miles (~250k) but the price is right

    @Anderson
What are these SVT headers you speak of?

    Link to ad?

The Tick is most likely the exhaust manifold. Factory they were a “machine finish gasket”. Meaning no exhaust manifold gaskets. Just metal to metal. Change out the bolts for studs and use Remflex gaskets. That will allow for a lot of manifold expansion until you put headers on. Because you will. Also, at that mileage the front C bushings will most likely be shot. Don’t go urethane unless you upgrade all at once. Buy a lifetime alignment from Firestone. Those trucks are amazing in the desert.

Believe the ad is already gone. I’ll grab some pictures when we go to pick it up Monday afternoon. It’s pretty clean, not perfect, but overall solid.
This is technically not my project, but my lady friends. She wanted her own vehicle to go in the woods and play in and I’ll be along for the ride and to help with keeping it maintained and doing some modifications to it. I’ll probably be making a build thread to keep track of everything.
As of now, I think the plans are for a mild suspension lift/definitely suspension refresh, 35s (hopefully), interior build out, some lights, front and rear bumpers, and maybe a rack and RTT. I’m still trying to convince her on front and rear coilovers and bypasses. Although I think I’m going to lose this one.

Also, most SVT parts are CARB approved. So smog isn’t even something to worry about with a lot of the modifications. Just stay away from the throttle body spacers. Not worth the money. Big bangs for your bucks is the cam/lifter combo, headers, CAI and a nice, high flow muffler. That thing comes alive with that combo. Plus, if you want to get silly, you can make that engine suck hard and still be smog legal with a supercharger. Like I said, a ton of cobra parts swap right on.

Just got mine in this week.
Can’t wait to slap them in but
Aiming them seems hard from what I’ve dug up online.
    Maybe I’m just nuking it.

You mod them or buy them made?
