So I purchased a 2020 Tacoma with regular stock non jbl. I’m wondering if I can put a 2019 jbl into my 2020 and it be compatible and if so what features would I gain and or lose?

It would be less work and better results to just go with an aftermarket stereo.

The 2020 is a totally different system than the 2019. You’d need to fully gut a 2019 (wiring as well, not just speakers and amp) then figure out how to get it all run in the 2020 and wired up

take less time and spend less money and build a much better system by going aftermarket

Not to hijack the thread but destin you seem very knowledgeable. I have the same question as OP but going from a 2019 non jbl to a 2019 jbl. Besides the larger bezel what else would I need to get this to work?.
    Thanks

No matter the year, JBL and non-JBL don’t mix. Literally everything is different. It would cost several thousand dollars to put a JBL system in a non-JBL truck

Guys, trying to “upgrade” to the OEM JBL system is a terrible idea! I have it and would NOT buy it again. The sound quality isn’t great, the sub deletes the single largest interior storage space, the components are expensive, you don’t have the features or flexibility that you can get with aftermarket, and the JBL system is so complex that working with it is just a PITA. Seriously, audiophile or not, its not worth it to even try this even if the factory wiring wasn’t completely different.

Thanks, I already decided against it. Appreciate the info though.
