    Fox 2.0 Coilovers in the front and Fox 2.0’s in the rear, Total Chaos UCA’s, Al-lpro expo leafs, K&N cold air intake, TRD headers,Magnaflow catback exhaust,URD short throw shifter, switched out my 60/40 bench seat for some Tacoma Limited seats, Replaced the vinyl shift boot for a leather one, completely soundproofed the cab w/ Frost King. Replaced stock radio with a Pioneer AVH series head unit. Focal component system w/a 10" sub powered by 2 Alpine amps. Weathertech floor mats. Line-X'd the bed. SCS Ray 10’s, Installed an A.R.E. MX series camper shell. All-Pro Apex front bumper w/ All-Pro skid plates all the way back to the Trans. Low Range fuel skid plate.
    I bought mine and it was pretty much bone stock other than rear shocks and a body lift. I could of paid for a brand new truck by now but my truck is 15 years old and other than the alternator/battery, I’ve replaced everything hence why I don’t think twice about driving 14 hrs to get to work. I probably couldn’t do that in a 3rd gen. :rolleyes:

    have you had any non-scheduled maintenance issues over the past month?

    i am still trying to figure out what to do with this annoying flapping sound in my vent system, cruising the highway its getting quite cumbersome listening to it for the nearly 15hrs drive back from Lake Superior last week, when I just wanted to relax peacefully on the road with some fresh air flow coming in, nothing but flap flap flap, gets worse with wind gusts!

    not sure I can live with out what is becoming a 'safety issue' at times
    this is one of those things that makes me almost seriously consider trading in and get into a new Tacoma like the sales people keep pressuring me to do o_O

    i called 1-800 customer care number and they keep sending me to the dealer parts dept. which are no help because their database shows unavailable
    ... looked into the custom route but can just see this costing well above $1000 to remedy,
    but would like to keep my Toyota a Toyota

    Replacing everything worn, broken, and rusted.
    I think about this time to time too, but remember, a truck payment adds up as well. Then, of course the repair cycle begins to repeat. Oil changes, belts, brakes, etc. $12k is a fair chunk, but its not $30000 for a new truck.

    Doing your own work also keeps cost down.

    Holy oem parts. Good lord I thought I was anal about using oem shit. Do you buy Toyota gas too? And royal purple oil? Is this a drag Tacoma? Put some supertech 5-30 in that shit and drive the wheels off it!

    @vettehigh I only read the first post and that's it.

    Bought my truck at 234k miles 6 months ago for 5500 and so far I've spent over 7000 in mods/maintenance so if it helps you feel better, you're not the only one!

    Should ask the guys with flatbeds, custom built long travel setups, etc. what they've spent so far...

    As long as you enjoy the truck and take care of it, it'll take care of you and get you wherever you need it to.

    When u just keep think of mods day after day, you just gotta put them in. It’s kinda up to you if you like modifying vehicles this is a good one to do it, motor and trans is where I draw the line but it’s an excuse for a v8 swap

    That's where you have been tricked. You THINK you need all that because the advertisement said so ;) all kidding aside a new pickup/car would be nice but never IMO worth the $ they ask. Plenty of transportation out there that gets it done. If I wanted to be more safe a used Volvo would be quite a bit ahead of the Tacoma. If I have a GF that gets tired of my pickup - she can kick rocks. I tell my kids that if they don't like riding in the pickup to get a job and buy their own. They could be walking.

    @vettehigh, anything else you are looking at needing replaced over the rest of this year?

    at least you do not have to replace most crappy peeling frame coating!
    i fear this is going to physically break me to the point of exhaustion and total collapse :(, i could only get a small half section (3' -4') redone underneath and it took me 4 days, including cure time, with a seriously strained stiff neck & shoulders
