OK so I've owned a jeep or two and I even go to the hunting camp with my buddy. He has 289K on the clock. (Runs like a top). But it's a 4.5 hour drive for us and I swear we pass 250K jeeps along the way. Then they have that "special wave" thing they do. Drives me crazy! So I'm protesting that we create or have our own "Wave" I was thinking of the upside down "Spock Wave" from the old star wars episode? Like this? And open to comments or suggestions. I know its lamb but that's were my buds come in. We could always do this: :headbang:

lol it ain't just the jeep guys, this is pretty common in every vehicle niche, though it did originate with jeepers I believe.

used to throw deuces at p much every WRX on the road, usually got it back. same for when I had a Golf. but i think there are way too many tacos out there for this to be a niche community, even if the modding community for tacos is

I could only see this happening with modded tacomas. Way too many stock tacomas out there, and most (read: almost all) of those people just have one because its a reliable truck, not because they're "enthusiasts." This is something that would only work between enthusiasts.

When I got my 93 wrangler last fall I had people in jeeps waving to me all the time. Didn’t know what to make of it so I’d just wave back. Asked my friend from work who has a Jeep and asked him that was a Jeep this or if it was because mines a bit older and the Jeep guys appreciate seeing an old one on the road. He said nope it’s just a Jeep thing. Thing is some wave and some don’t do I never really know when to do it.

Jeep guys having more fun is more of a stockholm syndrome thing and less of an actually-having-more-fun thing. The wave is a signal of mutual pain.

Yea I’ll wave at modded tacos and they usually wave back. I’ll wave at stock Tacoma’s too but don’t often get one back so I don’t do it as much to stockies

When i had my jeep I waved at other jeeps and got plenty back. But it gets real old when you wave at a jeep and it turns out to be some soccer mom in a jku who looks at you like a creep and is probably thinking why is this person waiving at me. I don’t miss it . I may give a nod to other tacoma drivers if i like there truck
