Was this rack made for the 1st gen specifically? I have been looking for a bed rack for my 1st gen and all I can find on AllPro’s website is the one that fits the 05+ Tacomas

They still sell it on their website, but only the unwelded version. Have to weld it yourself or get someone else to

I built mine, it's a little heavy, but it works for me.

Seems as if everyone is making an angle bracket and then drilling thru the bed to secure it. Has anyone found a secure way to mount without drilling thru?

That thing is sick! Does the carrier rack run the full length of the truck or is it two individual ones? Is it integrated into the bed rack or seperate?

    Thank you.
The headache rack is bolted to the bed. The bed rack attaches to the headache rack and the 2nd Gen bed rails.
The basket is a single unit attached only to the bead rack.
The basket and bead rack takes about 10-15 minutes to pull off.

As far as work related racks go, I had two metal square "sleeves" bolted onto one side of my bed interior (and fastened below the bed). What's cool is that when you need to transport a long ladder, you simply slide in the two sturdy "L" type extensions (one forward and one aft). They are tall enough to be above the roof. The two "L" inserted extensions rack pieces are wide enough to accommodate any large extension ladder width. There's no sleeve fastening bolts seen on the outside of the truck bed. When not needing to carry one large extension ladder (or two if stacked), the bed is rack free. Very cool.

Figured I should revive this thread because my rack is going to be for sale soon! I'll probably post it in its own thread in the 1st Gen Parts section. I love the thing and it's been super useful across 3 1st Gens, but I'm moving up to a GFC and it doesn't make sense to store it unused for a while.

They are my own designs, executed by my friend locally: rack (aka the Dino Cage) & toolbox shelf (aka the Tool Hammock).

I know that this is an old post, I have seen really good racks but yours is so cool lol... no other rack has a stronger look like yours, think you can even mount an elephant on it and it'll be ok.

Does anyone recognize this truck? Outside of the rack, just curious about the rest of the truck. Found it in a reddit post.
