It will fit fine on both. I have the older Alpha, which originally had different brackets.
Actually it isn't it is just short of it. It's only bottoming out on the portion that goes over the GrooveTEK. I personally like it for the style points, and the ability to hide the wires on the inside and out. You are right tho, you can hide the wires easily with a good wire loom and some zip ties.

The only place I get water in my bed is through the areas on the truck itself not sealed by Toyota. As far as the shell goes you only get water in through the sliding window areas if you keep a pressure washer on the seams for a long time. Other than that it’s leak free.

Man I’m having a hard time getting rid of the howl. I’ve tried messing the light position and even taped up the hollow holes in the center of the load bars where they have the adjustment slide cutout. The funny thing is it gets very loud around 50mph but if i lower my window I really dont hear it outside. Not sure what to try next. I even made sure the rack was square To the truck. I gotta be missing something.

Waiting on my Bravo to ship
Is there a benefit to mounting the roof mounts to the rack as opposed to simply mounting the roof mounts to the truck first then placing the assembled rack on the secured roof mounts?

It would probably take double the effort to alight it up and you’d probably need more than 1 person to help.

This is not good. My third load bar from the back is riding on my roof. It's making an awful racket and likely scratching up my roof. There is no weight on this bar. The bars where there is weight are fine as shown in the pics. The bar in question is slideable, however no position brings it off the roof. My only solution currently is to remove it. This is an unnacceptable solution. Anyone run into this issue? Any thoughts @upTOPoverland?

Might is close, but still.a slight gap.

Have you tried flipping the bar so the side touching the roof is on top? Maybe it has a slight bend

Was thinking maybe I fucked up the spacers, but that would likely affect all bars. Checked out the spacers and they're good though.

That's a good idea. I think I'll give that a shot if no better idea crops up. It might require me to uninstall the pelican, but it is what it is. Current state is a no go.

Is it possible that the mounting feet are switched around?

Double checked the feet and spacers and they're all installed correctly. Rack is fully functional and legit, other than this issue. I also removed all the gear from the pelican to see if something there was causing an issue, and no change.

Next step barring additional suggestions is to flip the bar in case it's bent. I feel like I would have noticed the bent bar when unpacking and installing, and I didn't put any pressure or load on any of the bars during install, so I can't imagine this is the case but it's worth a shot.

If you have double checked the longer spacers are in the front and shorter are in the rear then the load bar being bent is a possibility. Drew and Micah are out on a camping trip but you can always email us Support@uptopoverland.com. I can connect you with Derek or Grant who are much better at troubleshooting than I am.

Sounds good. I'm likely out this weekend too but I'll try and remove the bar to take a look at it, and email y'all early next week. Hope you have a great weekend!

I too noticed my 3rd load bar from the back is also insanely close to the roof. And this pic was taken with no LOAD on it. Its hard to tell but the gap is small but with my bare hand i can push it down slightly and it'll touch. Not sure what it could be. I wonder if there was changes in the ROOF design for example these Bravo Racks according to the instructions you need to put the last load bar vertically so it doesn't hit the Shark Fin. My Shark fin is farther forward that I don't have to do that. I can leave mine horizontally like all the others and it clears with plenty of room to spare.

Yes, they are designed to be this close. The rack is also designed to be able to a hold a load and not hit the roof. My alpha can fit about 2 credit cards underneath it. Looks very close, but it is supposed to be. If you pushed directly in the center this will probably cause it to bend, we recommend spreading the load such as a pelican case, rotopax, or maxtrax does.

The 2020 shark fin is different than the previous 3rd gens. It is further forward and is not compatible with our thinFIN.

I think I'm gonna go for a setup like this. Looks clean, and the placement is convenient. Thanks for the pic.

Was the wiring provided with the switchpro long enough to make it up there without any extension?

Mind if you post a pic of the entire rack from the side? Some of us who recently installed might be able to assist.
