Change shift points basically. Worn down 33.8" tires may eventually be closer to 33 than 34, just spit balling here

I wonder if I need a different tire map. I’m a tank and a half in and she’s still so doggy. I gave up and used S the whole way home.

Thanks for sharing this. I know many have been interested in how the tune would act when tires smaller than specified on the tune would act. Sounds like it’s going well for you. I’m thinking of giving it a try.

I also really liked the last 2.0F test tune aside from the start up hiccup. Loaded 04B04 Prem Thx 33 and am not enjoying it as much. Been running 91 fuel as that’s as high as we get here. 300 miles on it so need to give it more time, but the previous tune was awesome from mile 1 to mile 1500 if it were not for the start hiccup. Miss gear lock and the new tune lugs more. Better than stock by far but nothing like the last 2.0 test in terms of driving smiles. My mileage is up ~1 mpg on the new tune though. Thinking the last 2.0 test was a DI monster that drove well but @OVTune dialed in more PI on this one to ease some users long term reliability concerns or address start up.

I’ll give this tune more time but thinking of switching to the non Thx version just to see if that matters. But 300 miles in I’m missing the drive ability of the last tune.

Man these trucks are so different from one another. I’m having the opposite experience of yours. The THX file put the pep back in the truck that seemed to be lacking on all of the 2.0 betas for 04B04. The last 2.0 beta had me thinking I may be stuck with a regear if I want it to drive the way I’d like it to but with 2.0 final premium THX, it might just be enough to hold me over.

Agree. I was so excited to flash the new tune. It’s not bad, just for me and my truck, the last tune was awesome aside from the startup issue.

I know it’s dumb, but I may go reflash the latest 2.0 to make sure I didn’t flash the wrong tune. I was a few beers deep when I flashed it...:anonymous:

That’s the way mine was at on the 2.0 beta (04A61). When I first flashed the latest 2.0 the temps started out the same but have cooled down as more miles get racked up. After 450 or so miles fully warmed up pan temps tend to stay at 185 or less. Each time I go out now I’m expecting these good temps to end but it appears to be normal now. The real test will be next weekend when I tow my travel trailer.

Does anyone know what the difference is between 2.0 final and 2.0 beta?

I've been on the latest 04B31 beta for months and it's been perfect and I don't know if/why I should go to 2.0 final...

Don’t then. Or try the new one out and save the file for the one you’re on and flash back if you like it better. I have a problematic 2019 and the final tune works great. It’s truly the first non problem tune that’s been offered for the 2019s

Dude I have the same ECU.
I was running the beta for a month and absolutely loved it.
I switched to this final and cleared the data to reset the learning. Oof. It sucks right now -- which, based on Ov is part of the learning process.
I'm going on a 2k mile road trip next week so i know I'll be clocking the miles for learning and will know what's what at that point. If I were you, I would hold off for another week or two and see what else people have to say and also wait for the vftuner versions.

I'll give everyone an update on 04B31 after this trip.

After clearing values it's gonna run like crap. Mine did at first, but I'm at about 250 miles now and loving it. 04B04.

That's promising! I've only got about 100 on it. Sick performance accelerating on a long freeway ramp, but that issue ppl are talking about with the hard drop shift to accelerate at hwy speed, puts me at 6000rpms when I'm just trying to moderately quickly increase 10 mph. That there feels similar to the stock experience though, so it should be obvious when seeing the learning happen.

Looking forward to hearing about your Tow. I too am towing next weekend and have considered going backwards to the previous 4.88 Tune I was running because it had gearlock and I use it while towing a lot. I may just leave it and try out standard S mode as I’m loving this tune so far.

I use a scan gauge to monitor Trans temps and I’ll have to keep an eye out for that as 185 seems cooler than normal for sure. Good catch.

I am struggling to flash the Final 2.0 for my stock 2016 Auto TRD, 04B04 ECU. I know that others have had this error message, but in spite of searching and reading, I cannot find the solution.

I have my windows 10 anti-virus turned off. I have excluded the folder in which I have all my OVTuning files, I have excluded OVTuning program files, and I have specifically excluded p5flash.exe.

I am a long time dongle user, who turned in my dongle and successfully registered my computer and flashed the last 'almost final' 2.0 tune. I downloaded and extracted all the Final 04B04 tunes that were released on June 16, p5flash.exe lets me 'Identify' my ecu just fine, but when I try to 'Flash It!', I get the error message shown below.

Can someone please help me figure out what is wrong?

Thanks for any help you might provide......................... Frank
