Did you have to change the rear setup at all?

My rear axle is the same width as the front +2 kit so widths stayed the same, I might rub on the rear bypasses at full articulation, I'll find out next week.

The fronts should be good, everything cleared metal-to-metal properly and after setting the bumps I have plenty of clearance for dynamic loading and full travel. I flipped the bypasses around and with the lower ball joint pushed all the way forward I have plenty of clearance at the firewall. Didn't rub on the test run, and doubt I'll rub next weekend.

Front wheel wells were completely removed and all accessories relocated up and inboard.

Right now my rear is pulled apart to add some leaves back in, I'll take some photos of the mostly finished front end tomorrow

    Still have to:
    Clean up and shorten wiring
Make some sort of splash guards to help protect components and wiring
Try to make all the body panels that aren't damaged aligned as good as possible
Make a bracket to support the AC tubing
... Probably none of which will get done before the next trail I run:frusty:

I ran 1/4” round stock from the firewall to the rad support to mount 1/8” abs to, it’s been holding up great. I would use abs a little thinner if I was to do it again, maybe 3/32”. kinda hard to see, but the abs is zipped to the round stock.

Got through the Rubicon without breaking anything on the trail. Only took like 1 photo of my truck. @Tacoma1192 was there on his "39s" and didn't break anything either.
Stock CV joints and mostly stock steering held up fine so far.
My front diff has some problems that I'll have to figure out, but I'll deal with that in a couple days.

Next year I'm making the 29hr drive to do the rubicon. Anything specific I need to know or do when I start the trail?
Also that gives me hopes for running 40s when these treps run out

Try to run it on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Way less people on the trail and less traffic jams on Cadillac Hill. There's a part of Cadillac Hill that's 1 vehicle width next to a cliff that chokes off traffic and only 1 group can pass by it at a time.

Pirate has a calendar and Rubicon specific forum to keep an eye on large events so you can use that to avoid the big 50+ vehicle events.
This year is weird with the coronavirus, last year most of July and August weekends were booked with large offroad club events.

Bring your truck on a trailer if you want to mess around a lot on hard optional lines, seems like the Rubicon has more of them that we can do than Dusy or Fordyce.

It takes around 2 hours to get from trailhead to trailhead via pavement with all the mountain roads so if you park a trailer at the Tahoma side, factor in the extra travel time to get to Loon Lake.

You can camp at the loon lake trailhead or there are a bunch of campsites along the first mile you can camp at too if there's a bunch of people camping at the staging area.

Thank you for the good info. And the trailer is a must. We are going from rubicon to sand hollow to moab if all goes well.

Also consider Fordyce too, it's just an hour away from Tahoma, as long as the water flows are safe it's a better trail for experienced folks, quite a bit harder than the rubicon, less traffic, and what traffic there is will likely all be going the same way.
