What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

First post on the forums, but finally got the truck all paid off and have started throwing some money at her. Just finished paint matching and spraying one of those cheap eag grills to go with the new lights! Its amazing what some paint can do to transform a cheap part Getting ready to spray the wheels a gun metal color among many other things. Here is a little before and after and i am slowly falling in love all over again.

 

Pretty crazy upgrade today. Replaced the stock antenna with a TRD branded one from Amazon(because I am a TRD fanboy.) Looks decent, it was a lot smaller than I thought but oh well.

I also replaced the blower motor because the squeaking and ticking on low was driving me bonkers. I tried to follow the guide to rid of the noise but gave up after a couple of the find cracked, and figured I would retire the old one with honor after it served the truck for 15 years. I'm planning on keeping this truck a long time so might as well replace the things that bother me.

 

Nothing major, just replaced the fog lights with Cali-raised 2x2 white LEDS. Look pretty good I’m happy with the result

 

nice job. I want to do this also. Just need the time to do it all at once. Might have to piecemeal it.

 

How was your experience w/ factory battery? Mine only lasted barely 4yrs

 

You need the resistor block and a new plug with it. The contacts burn on the plug most of the time. Replace each wire one at a time on the plug.

I have the same ticking coming from my climate control also, a 2010. Hmm never really bothered me tho, my music is too loud to hear it haha

 

For what they cost vs. the "improvement" it made I'd say save your money for a different mod

 

Not to mention it's a chore to swap them out

 

4 years on the factory battery, 4 years on the one from either Advanced Auto or Autozone. I’m gonna do some comparing while at work this morning and get one when I leave.

for what its worth I have a set of Odysessy's group 35's that are 4+ years and still very strong. resting Voltage in the 12.7 range..very important to follow the charging recommendations per the mfg for AGM type batteries, as they are somewhat different then for a conventional battery..

Toyota actually had the better price/warranty for a 27F, $20 less compared to the local auto parts stores.
